Why Rudolph W. Giuliani Should Never Become President of the United States. He’s a Friend of Illegal Aliens.

by @ 12:03 am. Filed under Illegal Aliens

So yesterday I heard former New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani started down the road to make a run for President of the United States. As soon as I heard the news, I had to chuckle and think to myself “well it’s time to let that post out”. Basically this post contains information I’ve known for some time, it was just never the right time to release it. But now the time has come.

Sure Rudy did a great job after 9/11 and we are all glad for that. But Rudy is the wrong man to consider for President of the United States. A good mayor after tragedy, yes. A good President, no. Because with Rudy, there’s no need for me to get into his mess of infidelity, as some on the Left are doing. Although I totally agree that such activity is unbecoming of a President, greatly compromises a man for blackmail and I especially would never vote for Newt Gingrich because of it. But with Rudy, the man is a friend of illegal aliens and defended social programs for illegal immigrants, even when the Republican led Congress and Democratic President Bill Clinton were trying to cut some services to illegals. Also, when the Federal government wanted states to report people’s immigration status, Giuliani claimed it was unconstitutional for the Federal government to do so.

I could go into other reasons, but the bottom line is that Giuliani is a Liberal who should never become President. Other issues with Giuliani require their own posts, but in this one I’ll focus on his being a friend of illegals.

You don’t have to look any further than the web site of the New York City Government, to find plenty of Rudy’s efforts to protect illegals from being reported and denied services that should go to legal citizens. If you want to know why illegals enjoy public services, it’s because of politicians like Rudy Giuliani.

New York City’s policy toward undocumented immigrants is called “Executive Order 124.”

This order was issued seven years ago by Mayor Ed Koch and reissued by my predecessor, Mayor Dinkins, and by me. “Executive Order 124″ protects undocumented immigrants in New York City from being reported to the I.N.S. While they are using City services that are critical for their health and safety, and for the health and safety of the entire city.

Keep in mind that he views EVERY CITY SERVICE as being “critical for their health and safety”, because New York City Executive Order 124 applies to all city services. Of course we know the only way to discourage illegal immigration short of deportation is to deny social services and reserve them for people in the country legally. Giving social services to illegals is breaking the budgets of cities and states across the nation. (Here in Tennessee, we have citizens being kicked off the state’s medical assistance program because of lack of state funds, while some illegals still get medical care.)

But Giuliani said:

There are times when undocumented aliens must have a substantial degree of protection. For example, parents fearful of having their family deported may very well not send their children to public schools. That could mean that a potential 70,000 to 80,000 undocumented children might remain hidden in apartments or be turned out on the streets. And some of these children are citizens — born in the U.S. — even though their parents were not.

If their parents take them out of school, not only will these children suffer irreversible damage, they will most likely end up doing damage to the rest of society. Similarly, illegal and undocumented immigrants should be able to seek medical help without the threat of being reported. When these people are sick, they’re just as sick and just as contagious as citizens… And could possibly become a danger to public health.

And everyone should understand the practicality of wanting undocumented immigrants to feel comfortable reporting criminals to the police. Reporting criminals protects all people, citizens and non-citizens alike. It makes absolutely no sense to create a dis-incentive for immigrants to report crimes. Muggers don’t ask for a green card. The federal government should not mandate state and city policies that have the effect of reducing the number of undocumented aliens reporting crimes.

And yet Section 434 of the new welfare reform law, and Section 642 of the new immigration law, would effectively invalidate New York City’s “Executive Order 124.”

Yes Rudy is A-OK with allowing illegals to use the anchor babies trick. Overcrowded schools that are short on funds? Rudy says it’s just going to have to be for the sake of illegals. Illegals spreading disease? Rudy says don’t report them. And he tries to play on the prospect of less crimes being reported if illegals were to be reported to Federal authorities.

While mayor, Rudy continually claimed he did not like illegal immigration, but continued to defend illegals. He tried to claim it was a Federal issue, but was against taking steps to assist the Federal government. He claimed more needs to be done at the border and said even that won’t stop them all, but refused to do what is needed to stop those who get beyond our borders. Rudy is a Liberal politician who would do little to stop illegal immigration.

Giuliani defends illegals so much, that he even went to court to defend Executive Order 124 and claimed Federal efforts to have states/cities report illegals were unconstitutional.

MAYOR’S MESSAGE – Mayor’s WINS Address
Sunday, October 13, 1996

Two days ago I announced that the City of New York has filed suit against the federal government. We are challenging a provision of the recently enacted federal Welfare and Immigration law. This new federal law is part of an anti-immigration movement that can be seen throughout the United States, unfortunately.

Here in New York City we know the value of immigration. New York — the greatest city in the world — was built by the hands of immigrants and it continues to be built and strengthened by immigrants. New Yorkers know that any effort to eliminate immigration or unfairly burden immigrants could destroy the very process that is the key to New York and America’s success.

That’s why the City of New York has filed suit in federal court. Our lawsuit contends that the new federal law violates the Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution by invalidating New York City’s “Executive Order 124.”

For those who may not know, “Executive Order 124″ is New York City’s policy regarding undocumented immigrants. This order was issued seven years ago by Mayor Ed Koch and then later reissued by Mayor Dinkins and then by me. “Executive Order 124″ protects undocumented immigrants in New York City from being reported to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service while they are using City services that are crucial for their health and safety, and critical for the health and safety of the entire city.

I know “Executive Order 124″ offends some people. They ask, “Why should we pay to provide services for illegal immigrants?”

The answer is, “It’s not only to protect them, but to protect the rest of society, as well.”

Joining me in defense of fair treatment for immigrants is a coalition of well-known individuals and organizations who oppose the anti-immigration forces in Washington and elsewhere.

If Giuliani fought against efforts in Washington to curb illegal immigration, who knowing the problems caused by illegal immigration would vote for him to be President?

The people are against illegal immigration. Via pressuring state legislatures and state ballot measures, people are already denying illegals the same social services that Giuliani fought in court to give them. Giuliani is not truly a man of the people. A friend in a time of disaster, yes. But he’s ill suited for the job of President.
