You’d be hard pressed to find a Conservative that took issue with Cosby’s message and any that did would not be a true self respecting Conservative. Because Cosby’s message of self empowerment is sound. The only issue is that Cosby himself seems to have a history of abusing women. A well guarded, covered and spun history, but I don’t think a bunch of women from both the USA and Canada (up to 12 at last count) are making up stories, no more than all the kids with claims against Michael Jackson and the continually growing evidence of R. Kelly being with underage girls. You don’t get growing piles of the same evidence by coincidence.
When it comes to Cosby, this is the kind of dirt we Conservatives don’t like to talk about. Because we know his message is sound and those he tries to speak to need the message. Many Conservatives fear if Cosby takes too much heat, that it would destroy his message, some kids would lose a very inspiring figure, those kids might possibly turn to a negative life and we all would lose the image of an American hero. I think the truth is bigger than one man. While I often laud Cosby for sending the message, we should not ignore what in my personal opinion and the opinions of his accusers is criminal activity. Cosby should probably be in prison.
Shay over at Booker Rising has found that Cosby cut a deal with his latest accuser. You know how these deals go. The lawsuit is settled and no details are ever made public. Which I feel probably means he forked over a large enough sum of money for the accuser to back down.
One thing we know about sex offenders, is that they are big time repeat offenders. I think personally that Cosby is a sex offender, just my personal opinion of course. I also think Conservatives should have the courage of our convictions to address this issue. Women are being abused and we should not avoid this. I think that like with most sex offenders, Cosby will be caught in scandal again and again, until a law enforcement body has the courage to launch a deeper investigation. A deep investigation into an icon who will have the entire Civil Rights Industry and even many Conservatives protecting him all the way. I think the claims of rape will keep occurring and I feel one day Cosby will slip in a jurisdiction that won’t take a future accuser lightly.
While Cosby’s message is great, there are issues within his own body that he can’t control. So it would be best if his body was incarcerated. New messengers never fail to come, because the truth is bigger than one man. And with Cosby incarcerated I think some women will avoid potential future abuse.
It’s time for people who trumpet values to decide if we endorse values to the point of applying our standard even when we find someone we consider to be a values messenger doing wrong. How many inspiring speeches is a woman’s virtue worth? I feel it is beyond measure, but many of us seem to be treating it as less than priceless.
