Ted Haggard admitted to being sexually immoral, a deceiver and a liar. It does not appear that he admitted to being a substance abuser. A pastor on New Life Church’s independent Overseer Board read a statement from Haggard and announced that they have officially fired him. This article sums it all up best in my opinion and I highly recommend reading it all.

I recommended that the board fire Haggard and I must say, that they did the most Biblically appropriate thing given the circumstances. That being said, I still have strong reservations about Haggard’s replacement, Rev. Ross Parsley. Just call it a gut feeling. An uneasiness of spirit about him. But I pray the Lord’s will be done and I think the best first step has been taken.

The Overseer Board has proven they will hold a minister accountable and now Haggard can continue his battle with his issues away from the public eye.
