Yesterday Michael Medved spoke with Dennis T. Avery, co-author of the soon to be released book, Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1500 Years. Avery and his co-author climatologist S. Fred Singer realize that given the historical data, Earth goes through cycles of climate change. These are not cycles that are controlled by man now and were not controlled by man in the past either.

Avery shared plenty of information that debunks the nonsense from the Liberal Left about global warming, climate change or whatever they decide to call it. He mentioned that 80% of the current trend of warming occurred before 1945. That was before man was putting out a bunch of CO2 from factories and cars.

One caller mentioned the melting of ice on Mars. Avery mentioned it could be cosmic rays from the sun effecting both Mars and Earth. This is something I’ve been saying for some time. You don’t have 2 planets warming because people on one planet are burning fossil fuels.

Avery also mentioned the ocean emits much CO2. Something that was also mentioned by Tom (Thomas) Wigley. Mr. Avery said that man only emits 3% of the CO2. Obviously man would have to be making a much greater impact to be blamed for climate change. He also mentioned that according to his findings, there have been 600 warnings in the last million years. As in before the Hummer, which is more environmentally friendly than a hybrid car.

Avery also blasted some alternative fuel efforts. He mentioned that wind farms and solar arrays use up a massive amount of land. Regarding ethanol, he mentioned that 1 acre of corn for ethanol makes the equivalent of 245 gallons of gasoline in a year. While demand is at 134 billion gallons a year. He feels it would take 50 millions acres of forest to be used for ethanol in order to make a significant dent in gasoline usage. That would be the equivalent of 12,250,000,000 gallons of gasoline a year, which is not even 10% of current yearly demand.

I agree that some forms of alternative fuel have been over hyped. I say a good source of alternative fuel would be to drill for more oil in the USA. As an alternative to our current sources for some of our oil.

We already know one of the big global warming/climate change hype artists, Al Gore is a big hypocrite. And now here are more facts to blow his hype away!

I particularly dislike how these global warming/climate change hype artists, environmentalists nut cases, attempt to play on Christians. As if burning fossil fuels is supposed to be viewed as some form of sin . And some Christians fall for it. Our goal is to win souls, not save trees and cry about trucks! Man’s usage of the Earth is not causing all the problems the environmentalists claim and everyone including Christians need to ignore their bogus claims.
