Yesterday Laura Ingraham spoke with Congressman Michael McCaul, about his report on border security. Given Laura was saying McCaul is “hot and bothered” about the report, but she did not seem very upset herself. I have doubts that Laura has actually read the report. To me, she seemed to have a view that this report was just another saying there is violence at the border. When this latest report goes more in depth and offers more shocking details than have ever been previously disclosed. I get the feeling the MSM did a read the first few pages review and others don’t seem to have read it at all. Laura was glad the report was done, but you can tell the response of someone who has actually read details from this report versus someone who has not. More people need to actually read the report, because it would blow their minds.
It seemed Laura was not very concerned about the violence South of the border, since it’s not happening here in the USA. She said it was terrible, but “we don’t care about that”. I don’t think Congressman McCaul made the connection to her that the criminals South of the border are already coming North and doing much violent crime here in the USA. The level of crime may not be like it is south of the border yet, but some of their villains are making their way into the USA. He did inform Laura that the violent cartels are the ones delivering illegals into America. When “we don’t care about” the violence outside of our borders, we end up with massacres like Rwanda. I’m not saying we should go into Mexico and fix their problems, but we better be concerned about it and have more than a “we don’t care” attitude.
I really got the feeling that Ingraham had a [yea heard it all before, thanks, have a nice day] view of the report, although she has had much stronger personal views about the issue in the past. It makes me wonder about that meeting select Conservative talkers (including Ingraham) had with President Bush recently. Independent Conservative talker Michael Savage was not invited and we know he’s much stronger on this border issue. Although someone like Savage actually comes closer to the views of many Americans, it seems Bush has tried to keep Republican talkers in check and does not want to hear views outside of those who will defend his party. Because we know Bush and the Republican leaders really don’t want to control the southern border.
Notice Bush never talks about the terrorists coming across the US southern border. As if we are not supposed to think about the war with our enemies when talking about border issues.
Congressman McCaul said that efforts to crack down on drug cartels in Columbia have resulted in Mexican cartels gaining more power. So he feels the USA needs to pressure Mexico to crack down on the cartels as was done with Columbia. Cracking down on the cartels will help, but the southern border will have to be fully militarized to really stop illegal aliens, drugs, terrorists and weapons from entering our nation via that route.
