I am very disgusted at the amount of intolerance for diverse ideas within the community all the while the infrastructure is burning. This infrastructure is among the consciousness of the beings within and not any material items. The escape valve that is used is the call of "racism". All differences in outcome between Black and White or otherwise is attributed to racism. Once that is thrown out the people who are in position to hold individuals accountable are drawn to their perspective as they apply their own understandings and once again the cycle continues. Look at the number of Black US Representatives who ran unchalledged in the primary and especially the general election. As long as a representative maintains the line he will not be judged upon the condition of his community. There is no amount of unemployment, AIDS or crime in Detroit, Baltimore or John Lewis' district in Atlanta that will have them come up for rebuke and inspection. I have decided to change my strategy. I no longer plan to debate our more liberal counterparts about national politics (as much as possible). I plan to keep my focus and perspective from the Black community outward. America is changing both from within and with respect to our international standing. If the policies that our community are beholden to have been proved ineffective thus far then you ain't seen nothing yet. Most of the leadership count their success in fighting against White racism as the key measure. No doubt this is an important component. They are equally inept in looking inward and seeking change among Black people as part of our salvation. The sad truth is that they seek to change White folks, having them act in a certain way as the primary means of having Black folks to gain salvation. No amount of proof to the contrary is going to have them to change - UNLESS THE MASSES OF BLACK PEOPLE DEMAND OTHERWISE OF THEIR LEADERS. D:
