Michael Medved interviewed Robert Spencer about his new book, The Truth About Muhammad: Founder of the World’s Most Intolerant Religion.

Mr. Spencer mentioned, that since writing this book he’s received 4 death threats. From people who claim to be followers of Muhammad. And Spencer noted that Muhammad was a very violent man. This proves Islam is not a peaceful religion that was hijacked. Unless you consider the non-violent Muslims as the true hijackers, given Muhammad’s own actions.

Spencer noted, that Muhammad was allowed to break rules of marriage applied to other Muslims. Muhammad had about 12 wives, while other Muslims can only have a maximum of 3 or 4.

With Medved’s audience, given the number of people on the far Left, who are apologists for all enemies of Israel, Spencer had to set them all straight with facts about Islam and its origins.

One caller not on the far Left asked what spirit might have influence Muhammad. Spencer would not take a position and just wanted to lay out what he found. I must say, I feel Muhammad was influenced by Satan himself. Nobody following the example of the life of Jesus is trying to kill anyone for being critical of Christ.

Medved said Islam is the religion of perpetual outrage and mentioned that Mr. Spencer does not buy into the idea that Islam is a religion of peace.

Spencer mentioned that Muhammad encouraged his followers to “rid him” of his critics and told those who killed his critics not to feel remorseful about it. One critic killed was a pregnant woman. The follower of Muhammad killed both mother and child. The murderer asked Muhammad if Allah (their god) would be angry and Muhammad told the murderer not to worry about it.

Another caller said he goes to concerts were bands trash Christianity all the time and he sees Christian protesters, that he never fears, but if there was a band trashing Islam he’d be afraid to go. Simply because there would be violent attacks.

A caller mentioned that Muhammad had no “visions” of being able to have multiple wives until after his rich wife died.

Spencer says the 4 witnesses to a rape rule came about because Muhammad had a wife that was accused of adultery. He did not believe the accusers and he required that the accusers produce 4 witnesses. This went into the Koran (that book Muslims believe their god gave to man) and is still enforced today.

Regarding reform in Islam, after a caller asked, Spencer said he thinks large scale reformation will not come to Islam. And it would be extraordinarily difficult given the teachings of Islam, the Koran and Muhammad’s own life.

A later caller asked if there should be a book called the “Truth about Moses”. This caller was attempting to claim that Moses’ teachings were just like Muhammad’s. Spencer responded by saying that nobody is running around killing in the name of Moses, or as followers of Moses. He said once this happens, such a book might be necessary. He also mentioned that killing involving Moses was related to select targets, not the entire world. In Spencer’s earlier book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), he noted that targets involving Moses were in a defined area for a defined period of time. While Islam teaches to take the entire world. As I have noted before and was mentioned during the interview, Islam advocates bringing harm to all non-Muslims, especially Christians and Jews.

What probably should have also been mentioned to that particular caller, is that Muhammad is viewed by Muslims as being the perfect man. Moses is not viewed as having been perfect. No caller tried to put the teachings of Muhammad up against Jesus. And Jesus being perfect, we know he never lived like Muhammad while on Earth in human form. During the times of Moses and afterwards, Jews’ attacks had the ultimate goal of gaining Israel, not forcefully conquering the entire planet. So it’s ridiculous for people to compare Moses to Muhammad.

People trying to live like Jesus are not viewed as violent radicals. But look at the life of Muhammad and those who live like him. Anyone considering who to follow should not have a hard time choosing Jesus. Jesus Died for Our Sins, while Muhammad killed in the name of his god.
