The Hypocrisy of Al Gore Revealed! (Audio)

by @ 3:32 pm. Filed under Audio, Junk Science, Nuts on Parade

I’m sure Albert Gore Jr. is not happy this inconvenient truth is getting out!

Gore angry

Gore has been claiming the sky is falling and we all must change our habits in order to save the earth. Of course there has been prior mentions of Gore’s extensive use of jet planes not being so kind to the environment, but wait there’s more! Yesterday Nashville talker Phil Valentine exposed more of Gore’s hypocrisy. He cited this USAToday editorial and Gore’s response.

Best read in full:

Gore isn’t quite as green as he’s led the world to believe

He says he recycles and drives a hybrid. And he claims he uses renewable energy credits to offset the pollution he produces when using a private jet to promote his film. (In reality, Paramount Classics, the film’s distributor, pays this.)

In the Washington, D.C., area, utility companies offer wind energy as an alternative to traditional energy. In Nashville, similar programs exist. Utility customers must simply pay a few extra pennies per kilowatt hour, and they can continue living their carbon-neutral lifestyles knowing that they are supporting wind energy. Plenty of businesses and institutions have signed up. Even the Bush administration is using green energy for some federal office buildings, as are thousands of area residents.

But according to public records, there is no evidence that Gore has signed up to use green energy in either of his large residences.

Gore has held these apocalyptic views about the environment for some time. So why, then, didn’t Gore dump his family’s large stock holdings in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum?

Humanity might be “sitting on a ticking time bomb,” but Gore’s home in Carthage is sitting on a zinc mine. Gore receives $20,000 a year in royalties from Pasminco Zinc, which operates a zinc concession on his property. Tennessee has cited the company for adding large quantities of barium, iron and zinc to the nearby Caney Fork River.

Gore’s camp claims that his donations to environmentalist causes make up for his anti-green sins. And colleges are getting into the act too. They are unable to cut their traditional energy usage to zero carbon emissions, so they are also making donations to atone and trying to partially run on alternative fuels.

I’m not saying using alternative fuels is a bad thing. But pandering to far Left fear mongers, who use junk science and spin to persuade the masses into thinking the sky is falling is just lame.

I’m starting to think that I might be greener than Al Gore :D . We already know that hybrid vehicles are not as environmentally friendly as Leftists make them out to be. I don’t have a 10,000 square foot home and I actually like compact fluorescent light bulbs. I have compact fluorescent light bulbs all over my place. I like them simply because they don’t have to be changed as often and down here in the South, where we get strong power fluctuations during storms, they are less likely to burn out. I use them for practical reasons and any environmental benefits are secondary to me. But it’s funny to think, not even including jet usage, I probably am greener than Al prophet of anti-green doom Gore :D .
