What’s the Difference Between an Independent Conservative and a Republican?

by @ 1:01 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Often people attempt to claim that people who call themselves Independent Conservatives, like myself, Michael Savage and La Shawn Barber are Republicans, or somehow playing on terms. The fact is that we are not Republicans, we each have our own views, that don’t fully agree and the term Independent Conservative is most fitting. While we hold views that are considered to be “conservative”, we do not claim membership to or represent any political party. We represent our morals, values and convictions. From there we support individuals who best represents those morals, values and convictions, but we do not advance a political party. Because we see the parties are playing you, with what Savage calls the “two card Monty” game. One party acts as if they will resolve issues, they claim were created by the other, but neither really does what you want done and as a result the problems you complain to the parties about persists. So someone like myself could really care less about the parties.

Political parties are focused on seeing their name in lights. They want to win and will do whatever is necessary to win. This is why party platforms change with every political cycle. They are not holding true to any fixed slate of values. They stick a finger in the air and endorse whatever seems to win the most votes, while trying not to advance anything their opposing party might support. Because of political parties’ obsession with winning, this is why matters like the Mark Foley scandal are blowing up in Republicans’ faces. Republicans in Congress have been trying to cover and hide this mess and now I even see some obviously Republican bloggers trying to rant because the mess has been exposed just before an election. The issue is not WHEN the public found out. We know the news media is full of Left Winged hack jobs. Exposing that is like proving grass is green. The real issue is that Republicans are so concerned with winning, that they will not only cover the deeds of a nasty member of their own party, but even after exposure some of them will even try and attack the messenger.

Real Independent Conservatives are blasting Foley, without hedging. Foley should have been asked to resign years ago, when this mess was first known about. And as I said in my previous post, leaders in the Republican party and even Republican President George W. Bush should all be on record with stern words against Foley. But La Shawn Barber has found that Republican leaders are the reason why this issue was never dealt with appropriately in the past. I agree with her, that US House Speaker Dennis Hastert should resign. If the Republicans are the bastion of morality that they claim to be, put up or shut up Republicans! The bottom line is that they are all about winning and scared out of their pants (no pun intended) that they will suffer the Slick Willie effects of a sexual scandal.

DC is like a protective pack of crooks and liars. Their continued immorality in the way of soliciting for sex is an ongoing problem. Michelle Malkin even was sized up by a US Congressman when she was starting a job in DC. This band of crooks and liars never wants to expose any crooks and liars in their own camp, because that might cost them votes. Only when they can expose a crook or liar in their opposing party do they run with their morality sticks in hand, ready to swing!

And speaking of Slick Willie, check this out! An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate, then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate.

The Washington Times chimes in, with a request for Hastert to resign from her leadership position. They would like to see Henry Hyde be put in his place.

First let me say, this is a crime involving the abuse of youths. I think Hastert should resign from Congress. Not just his leadership position. His district will not elect a Liberal, so there is a chance someone better will take his place. The Republicans should show leadership and such a move by Hastert would show the highest level of it. To take the fall for allowing this to continue on his watch.

Second, given this scandal involves sexual immorality, is Henry (“cheated on his wife”) Hyde the best replacement to suggest? It would only bring up his past issues. With over 100 people to choose from, I would hope the Republicans can find at least one person that has a clean slate in this regard.
