The verse is <b>Thou shall not "murder"</b>. The use of the term "kill" is a mistranslation. Which is why Jesus had no problem asking his disciples carry swords at one point, for their own self defense. The same hand of God that wrote the 10 Commandments ordered many a war, so it would be theologically incorrect by action, to have an order against any and all "killing". There is a difference between killing and murder. To war for a nation's defense against an enemy screaming for our death is not murder.

Muhammad was no prophet of my God. He said so in the Koran and called for the destruction of both Jews and Christians. He viewed those who acknowledged the trinity as polytheists evil doers worthy of death, if we refused to submit to paying his tax and desired to express our faith openly. He was a false prophet and minister of <b>conversion to his faith, servitude or death</b>. Those are the options he offered.

You're right in saying some of us don't know how to get along on this planet. And that's why the most ardent followers of the radical teachings of Muhammad are being dealt with and must continue to be.

Thanks for your thoughts, although we totally disagree :) .

I refer to the sentence "we should also work to continually stir them against each other."
I think encouraging anyone to kill or fight anyone is wrong. We need to lead by example, no matter how difficult it gets or how infuriating it is to do. If leading by peace and raising the bar were easy, everyone would do it. It's time someone stood for peace. It's so easy to take sides and think tribally - my tribe versus your tribe but that's just pagan. What is so enlightened about thinking us versus them? Mankind always thought tribally - my tribe versus your tribe. We didn't need new religions and enlightened prophets sent by God just to think and act the way we did before. What's the point? There is really very little difference between them trying to kill us and us trying to kill them. The only real difference is the difference between those who exhaust themselves trying not to let anyone get killed. I didn't see a list of exceptions under the "Thou shalt not kill" sentence. "Thou shall not kill unless it's retaliation, or hatred, or your enemy or anger or someone you can justify in your mind to kill."

I can't take pleasure in even my enemies killing each other. In the same sentence there is the discussion of missionaries converting people to some religion and taking pleasure in these people killing each other off. Does hypocrisy have NO limits, cause that sounds pretty hypocritical to me?. Not having met Jesus personally, I can't say for sure what he thought and said, it's all hearsay, but from what I have heard about the guy, I can't picture him taking pleasure in his enemies killing each other off. Just can't imagine he would want that. I think he would say, "Not in my name, please." I can't see the difference between these other people distorting their religion for their purpose and us distorting our religion for our purposes. Looks the same to me. It's one thing to be conservative. It's doesn't give us the right to be hypocritical. Someone, on some side, has to set a bar, a standard, that's 'higher' than what we have now. Right now all we have is everyone thinking they are right, the other guy is wrong and it's OK for us all to kill each other over these differences. That's the way everything was before all these prophets from God so I'd say they wasted the trip cause we're still operating at a very base level of anger and hatred toward each other. On all sides we write scathing things about each other and wish for each other's demise. What does that make us? We need to spend time looking inward at our own behavior and less time judging others. Who are we to judge anyone anyway? Why are we so sure we have the answers. How do we know we are right? Where did we get a sign that we are right and God's other children are wrong? There but for the grace of God go I. That's true for all of us. Spreading hatred has NOTHING to do with any God I heard about. Mentioning missionaries and spreading venom in the same sentence is just too over the top.

But it doesn't matter cause we will all find out in the future just what our behavior will bring us all and we won't have to worry anymore about human opinion cause an opinion of greater power will have the last say and it we don't learn now, I'm sure we will learn our lessons then, even if it may be too late to benefit us here. I just don't think we will be 'admired' for our venom towards other humans. Just can't picture it.

It's just a big planet in the solar system and all 3 billion of us are all just roommates trying to get along but some of us want to shut off the lights at 8pm and some of us want to stay up and watch TV till 10 and so we fight over this to the death. We just haven't figured out how to share our apartment known as Earth. How sad are we?
