McKinney May File Suit Against Ga.

Outgoing Fourth District Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney was considering a lawsuit against the state of Georgia Friday.

McKinney questioned whether Georgia?s primary system violates the Voting Rights Act and hinted on Thursday that her supporters may challenge the legality of laws allowing crossover voting.

A similar lawsuit was filed in 2002 after McKinney lost her seat to Denise Majette.

A U.S. District Court dismissed the lawsuit and the decision was upheld on appeal.

As an Independent I LOVED VOTING IN GEORGIA!

I never had anyone ask me if I was a member of a party at the polls and I never had to claim a party just to vote. In Georgia I was able to vote in whatever Primary I desired a ballot for, without being a member of any party. Remember, there was talk of Cynthia McKinney going “independent” if she lost. Well she’s not acting in the best interests of Independents with actions like this.

She is showing that she is noting more than a sore losing Democrat!
