Well at least he’s warning others not to be like him, when it comes to managing a disaster. I think it’s interesting that he said “we” when given he’s the head man in New Orleans it may have been more fitting for him to say “I”. Maybe HE should have been ensuring things regarding the chain of command were in order beforehand.

According to a report in the San Diego Union-Tribune, Nagin told the security event’s audience, many of them local government officials, that they should try to avoid chaos in the wake of a disaster by determining beforehand who will be in charge.
He said he hoped to help other cities avoid making the mistakes New Orleans did.
“I don’t want to see what’s happened to us happen to another community,” Nagin said, according to the San Diego paper. “I don’t see us having a sense of urgency as a country. I would ask every local and state government to take a hard look at their disaster plans.”
The event was hosted by the Security Network, a coalition of government, military, business and academic leaders.
