Of course I always advocate hard labor and life sentences for child molesters, but for the ones sick enough to claim to minister to children in the house of the Lord, I think there should also be a public beating portion added to their sentence. I mean, if someone is so sick that they abuse children sexually AND go so far as to try and supposedly “minister” to them in church, I think that individual should suffer an additional penalty for trying to pose as a minister of the gospel. The public beating could be carried out after sentencing and any parent in the town would be allowed as many punches or kicks at the convicted as they have children. So if you lived in the town and had 5 kids you would be allowed 5 swings at the sick person, that abuses children while claiming to bring them to Christ. I’m still considering advocating the death penalty for all child molesters and if I was in a legislature where such a bill was considered, I’d probably vote for it.

I continue seeing news stories like this and they sicken me.

I’m getting sick of seeing supposed “youth ministers” who sexually abuse children. Robert Kyle Amerson’s official title is “Student Pastor”. You can see his picture and profile on the church web site at this link. He’s 2nd from the top, just below the Senior Pastor. (Does that mean he was next in line?) Below is the text his profile. Some emphasis added by me.

Is that sick or what? He claims to enjoy being with his wife, while he’s caught trying to arrange a meeting with someone he thought was a 14 year old girl. And he claims he has a “passion” to see young people’s lives “changed” in “spiritual” and “personal” ways. Well the passion does not appear to be anything of a Godly nature and the change he would bring is pretty horrible. It is a change that would definitely have a spiritual and personal impact on a child, but it’s nothing good.

Amerson is the definition of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. A wolf walking in darkness while claiming the light. This manner of evil is so sick and depraved, even my public beating proposal is too nice. I can only think of punishments from Medieval times that would be appropriate.

The police mentioned that they’ve caught more than one “youth minister” and a school superintendent in their efforts to take these evil people off the streets. Unfortunately they don’t have the manpower to dedicate more time to this effort.

update 4/3/2008 6:12PM: The sick pervert pleaded GUILTY.

He better be glad man caught him before he had to answer to the Lord Jesus at judgment, because now he has a moment to repent. Although personally I would not mind if they had given him life in prison. God does not take people harming his little ones lightly.

Dirty perverts had better leave God’s little ones alone and repent!
