More evidence of WMDs in Iraq was released yesterday, in a declassified version of information in a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, which is an arm of the Department of Defense. The report is fairly short and I’ve transcribed it below:
UNCLASSIFIED
Subject: Iraqi Chemical Munitions 21 June 2006
Purpose: This summary provides an unclassified overview of chemical munitions recovered in Iraq since May 2004.
Key Points:
– Since 2003 Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent.
– Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq’s pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist.
– Pre-Gulf War Iraqi chemical weapons could be sold on the black market. Use of these weapons by terrorists or insurgent groups would have implications for Coalition forces in Iraq. The possibility of use outside Iraq cannot be ruled out.
– The most likely munitions remaining are sarin and mustard-filled projectiles.
– The purity of the agent inside the munitions depends on many factors, including the manufacturing process, potential additives, and environmental storage conditions. While agents degrade over time, chemical warfare agents remain hazardous and potentially lethal.
– It has been reported in open press that insurgents and Iraqi groups desire to acquire and use chemical weapons.
Michelle Malkin has a link to an actual copy of the document. Hot Air and FoxNews have reports with other details.
This document shows there were WMDs in Iraq. Although they were degraded and material that appears to be pre-Gulf War I, we know terrorists would not mind testing them out on innocent civilians. So this proves (again) that Saddam had WMDs and maintained them. Because he never reported or got rid of these.
Hugh Hewitt spoke with Senator Rick Santorum about this. The audio and transcript are available over at Radioblogger.
Michael Savage spoke with Congressman Curt Weldon. That audio is below. Congressman Weldon mentioned that he is going to review information later today, about 4 sites that were full of WMDs and never checked. So this story is far from over. This is just the tip of the iceberg. And we know some of that material moved to Syria.
Interesting how the UN Weapons Inspectors did not find this material. Because Saddam never wanted it to be found. His forces wanted to hold on to it for their own purposes.

I have not heard anything form John Kerry, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, nor Ted Kennedy. I wonder why?

Speaking of reports, what’s with Kerry getting out a completed form 180 to release all his military records and a copy of the completed form requesting to release them all? Not just a limited amount that he approves?
We keep finding proof of more WMDs in Iraq, but still Kerry won’t help us find proof he’s a real war hero
