Well isn’t this entertaining

DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE WORKED TO DEFEAT NAGIN
|
(Of course you want to read all of that.)
Here’s what I predict will happen. Jesse Jackson and others will cry about Democrats working against Nagin for a little while. Then by November they will be supporting Democrats. We won’t hear Kanye West crying that Howard Dean hates Black people.
The good thing out of this is that it will help Blacks who supported Nagin, to see that the Democratic Party does not deserve their unwavering loyalty.
Be true to your values, not a party
.
update 5/22/2006 2:30PM: The DNC denies the original report from Matt Drudge. He has updated the story.
…
DNC Communications director Karen Finney said the report was “absolutely false.” Finney explained: “The DNC does not as a policy get involved in Democratic primaries… The only thing that the DNC did was a campaign helping ensure that displaced voters had an opportunity to vote.”
…
Now do you think the RNC would be able to simply deny such an accusation and things be put to rest? After all the talk that Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu would “turn back the clock”. Will the so-called Black leaders race hustling community simply let it go with a denial from the DNC? I’m still waiting for that lawsuit Jesse Jackson promised.
Pure entertainment!
update 5/22/2006 3:35PM: This party is not near over by a long shot! La Shawn Barber has found this Raw Story article, that mentions the DNC has called in their legal hounds! And we know attorneys favor Demos because they fight Conservatives on issues like tort reform
.
The story also mentions:
…
Ironically, the DNC’s effort may have actually increased support for Nagin — those who voted by absentee ballot were more likely to support Nagin than Landrieu. An email to Matt Drudge was not immediately returned.
…
I know here in the metro-Atlanta, GA region that probably is true. There were billboards for Nagin in various parts of the city. I did not hear of or see any billboards for Landrieu.
update 5/22/2006 9:12PM: Drudge is backing away from the story.
…
DNC Communications director Karen Finney explained: “The DNC does not as a policy get involved in Democratic primaries… The only thing that the DNC did was a campaign helping ensure that displaced voters had an opportunity to vote.”The DRUDGE REPORT takes chairman Dean and his spokesman at their word.
A demand from the Federal government, that a reporter reveal a source won’t crack many reporters, but the threat of a private lawsuit… Then suddenly the story is not a story worth standing by. And of course we know the government can deny a story for weeks and a reporter won’t back away from it.
Still if this had “RNC” on the scandal instead of “DNC”, you would see the race hustlers running with it in November. And who knows, maybe behind closed doors somebody will up their rates to be part of the next DNC “get out the vote” drive

DNC Fails In Ousting Nagin
From Drudge:The Democratic National Committee (DNC) secretly placed political operatives in the city of New Orleans to work against the reelection efforts of incumbent Democrat Mayor Ray Nagin, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. DNC Charman Howard Dean mad…

Congratulations, Howard Dean!
Howard Dean, failed presidential candidate and beleaguered chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), has performed a rare feat for liberals: He made a decision without regard to race.
Instead of supporting the weak Ray Nagin in the New Orlean…
