Robert Rector Discusses, Illegal Immigration, Guest Worker and Legalization Issues with Laura Ingraham (Audio)

by @ 11:37 pm. Filed under Audio, Illegal Aliens

Robert E. Rector, Senior Research Fellow in Domestic Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation has produced a report regarding the proposed immigration reform that is shocking. The initial proposal may have increased the number of immigrants in America by over 100 million people within 20 years. Since alarms have sounded because of his findings, lawmakers have proposed changes, but still the number would be about 66 million. There is no way this nation could reasonably sustain such a large influx of people, without there being a major negative impact. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (CIRA, S.2611) is being touted as a bill to reduce illegal immigration, but the impact would be a much larger influx of legal immigrants than could be reasonably sustained. It’s giant closet amnesty bill! Mr. Rector has also produced a report about how this all could impact welfare and poverty in America.

Mr. Rector’s findings have been shaking things up in Washington, DC and across the nation, as people review his reports. He spoke with Laura Ingraham today. During the show, he described the proposed immigration bill as the most dangerous bill he’s seen in 25 years in Washington. He responded to callers and clips Laura played from Tony Snow, Alberto Gonzalez and John McCain. He also dispelled the claim of America being a “nation of immigrants”, given most people in America are native born. I totally agree with that. Most of us have generations of family that were born in America. It is ridiculous to continue trying to see ourselves all as “immigrants”. We now are the American natives. Laura had to point out that it’s a pretty bad situation when we Conservatives agree with Robert Byrd, who opposes the amnesty (aka guest worker and legalization provisions).

(For the sake of bandwidth there will be no other formats made.)

We need a fence that covers the entire southern border. Not just an additional 370 miles. Till then it would be best for the entire southern border to be militarized, to prevent illegal immigration. And we don’t need to create any amnesty programs. That means no guest worker program and no legalization for illegal aliens living here already. Our borders should first be secured and then we can manage all other issues.

Who Cares Who Asked for the Probe, the NAACP was Playing Politics and Broke IRS Tax Exempt Rules

by @ 6:59 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

So what if Republicans called for the probe. So what if Democrats called for the probe. So what if Libertarians called for the probe. The bottom line is that the NAACP broke the rules they agreed to as a tax-exempt organization. But I’m sure the band of race baiters will try to claim this somehow means Republicans hate Blacks. A group that will play on the murder of James Byrd is bound to say anything! I say the Republicans did the right thing. And churches that signed on to being a 501-c better watch their backs if they are putting their foot into politics. This cuts both ways. If you run a church and don’t want to get caught up in the mess, you might want to avoid signing on as a 501-c.

IRS audit of NAACP was asked

Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.’s chief fundraiser asked the Internal Revenue Service to investigate the NAACP’s tax-exempt status shortly after the 2000 presidential campaign, questioning whether the civil rights organization had inappropriately sought to influence the election.

Leaders at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, who have called the IRS audit a political smear campaign to silence the group, released the documents yesterday, saying they represent only a fraction of the information the IRS has turned over to the NAACP in response to the group’s request that the agency reveal the complaints that initiated the audit.

The NAACP received the documents in March 2005 after making several requests under the Freedom of Information Act, and an attorney with the organization said he hopes that making these documents public will prompt the federal agency to release other documents in its files.

The other lawmakers included: Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Sen. Susan M. Collins of Maine, Sen. Strom Thurmond of South Carolina, Rep. Jo Ann Davis of Virginia, Rep. Larry Combest of Texas and Rep. Joe Scarborough of Florida, now an MSNBC personality. Like Ehrlich, all are Republicans.

After all the partisan tricks played by the NAACP, I say they deserved it!

I don’t like parties, but it only makes sense Republicans would respond after this: (read it all)

Demo NAACP proudly waves wrong flag

When Gore addressed the NAACP convention in July, group leaders practically crowned him. The Washington Post reports that much of the $7 million raised for the National Voter Fund came from one anonymous donor. That is, it is the sort of soft money back-door maneuver that Democrats are supposed to oppose — unless it goes into their pockets. That’s because Democrats are so good, that they can spend millions in special-interest money for ads that deliberately mislead black voters without being honest as to their real intentions.

Did the NAACP figure they could hit and not be hit back? The Republicans that complained were not the ones violating any rules or playing on racial lies to influence an election. And no Freedom of Information request can be made, to see who gave the NAACP National Voter Fund $7 million in an election year. Let’s just say I doubt it was Liberal TV talker Oprah.

And we know the NAACP has no problem going after other non-profits that say something they don’t like to hear, even if it’s not political in nature.

More With This Duke Lacrosse Rape Accuser Just Does Not Add Up

by @ 1:25 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

It seems she does some pretty nasty crimes and gets off easy. Also, she seems to have a habit of being “passed out” when cops come around her.

Lawyers question dancer’s plea deal in ‘02

DURHAM — Defense lawyers suggested Wednesday that the District Attorney’s Office may have shown favoritism as early as 2002 to an exotic dancer who claimed she was gang raped during a Duke University lacrosse party in March.

In a written motion filed in Durham County Superior Court, attorneys for indicted rape suspect Reade Seligmann asked why the dancer received “such a favorable plea bargain” for criminal charges arising out of a drunken, stolen-car, high-speed police chase in June 2002.

Court records show that even though the woman was charged with four felonies and numerous other traffic violations, the offenses were plea-bargained down to misdemeanors and she received only probation.

Meanwhile, a Durham County Sheriff’s Office report — reviewed four years ago by Sgt. T.H. McCrae and recently obtained by The Herald-Sun — provides details of the 2002 car chase involving the alleged rape victim.

The incident began at a topless dance club while the woman was performing for a taxi driver, McCrae wrote.

“As she was feeling him up and putting her hands in his pockets she removed the keys to his taxi cab, without him knowing,” the officer said. “He [the cabbie] told her he would drive her home but needed to go to the restroom first. While in the restroom he was advised that she was driving off in his taxi cab.”

McCrae said he chased the woman at speeds up to 70 mph in a 55-mph zone until she finally stopped.

“As I began to approach the vehicle she put it in drive and drove towards me,” McCrae added. “I jumped out of the way to the right and she missed me. The suspect then struck the right rear quarter of my patrol vehicle.”

Another chase ensued, but the woman finally was apprehended after having a flat tire, according to McCrae.

The officer said she registered a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.19 on a portable sensing device — more than double North Carolina’s 0.08 legal threshold for impairment.

And while being questioned, the dancer “passed out and was unresponsive,” McCrae said.

She was taken to the emergency room at Duke University Hospital, McCrae’s report indicated.

On the night of the alleged rape, the woman was also described by an officer as being “passed out drunk” before being taken to the emergency room and saying she had been assaulted.

In connection with the 2002 incident, the woman was charged with felonious assault with a deadly weapon [the stolen taxi] on a government officer, felonious larceny and felonious possession of a stolen vehicle, felonious speeding to elude arrest, driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, driving while left of center, ignoring an officer’s blue lights and siren, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a dual-lane highway, having an open alcoholic beverage container in the car, two counts of damaging personal property and resisting a public officer.

And there might be more coming.

Finally, defense attorneys said they want investigative files pertaining to various employers of the two dancers, including Allure Escort Services and Bunny Hole Entertainment.

If Nifong doesn’t voluntarily surrender the requested information within seven days, a judge should order him to do so, lawyers Osborn and Conner wrote.

Yea once upon a time, she was a member of the navy and other good stuff. But lately (for many years) she’s been anything but honorable and certainly is less than credible. She tried to hit a cop and got off easy. If Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney does not get off easy for hitting a cop and claims it is because she’s a Black woman, remember this.

Let’s be honest, the accuser in this case is a lush that can’t be trusted. Working for an “escort service” and had fresh semen inside of her, that was supposedly from her “boyfriend”. So we know where the supposed “internal trauma” comes from. This whole case is bogus! And I think she does more than just “strip” for the money. In fact, I think she was doing just that for some money before heading to the Duke lacrosse players’ home that night. That’s why she showed up with her “stripper outfit” already on.

Where were the protesters when she was stealing and trying to hit a police officer? They did not ask for “healing” then! They did not cry out for “justice” then. And we know what they call “justice” is nothing but a conviction of the accused regardless of the facts. I don’t think Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong is ever going to put her on the stand. He’s going to drop this case. But I do think she’s going to try and get some money out of this. It fits her true character perfectly. If she was White, the DA would have laughed her out of his office. But a Black accuser made for the perfect racial spin for some votes.

And I’ve seen no evidence to prove otherwise.

Carrboro, North Carolina Officials Want Illegal Aliens to Vote. And Mexico Wants to Dictate Border Enforcement.

by @ 12:36 pm. Filed under Illegal Aliens, Nuts on Parade

This is a level of foolishness that I feel certainly is unAmerican. Because it would put non-citizens who have entered this nation illegally on the same level as American citizens. Which would do away with the distinctions that make an American different under our laws. It would mean that anyone able to avoid capture at the border is basically a full citizen and that’s just insane. It goes against all logic of what makes someone a citizen of a nation. On top of just giving illegals a bunch of taxpayer funded services, let the illegals elect officials that will ensure they always get what they want.

Read all about it at Hot Air where AllahPundit has all the details. Be sure to see the video in the first link of his post. Your jaw will drop actually hearing and seeing the report. It also mentions how officials felt an officer was wrong for actually arresting an illegal alien.

Also, the 2nd part of AllahPundit’s post shows how Mexico is trying to dictate US border policy and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff appears to be catering to them.

Hummer H3 Has Cheaper Energy Life Cost Than Hybrids

by @ 12:17 am. Filed under Junk Science

H3 So everybody thinks that hybrid vehicles are better for the environment than an SUV. Research on the lifetime energy cost of vehicles is showing that thought is more myth than reality. What do you know, the environmentalist nuts fooled the world again!

Be sure to read all of this when you can.

Hybrids Consume More Energy in Lifetime Than Chevrolet’s Tahoe SUV

CNW Marketing Research Inc. spent two years collecting data on the energy necessary to plan, build, sell, drive and dispose of a vehicle from initial concept to scrappage.

To put the data into understandable terms for consumers, it was translated into a “dollars per lifetime mile” figure. That is, the Energy Cost per mile driven.

For example, the Honda Accord Hybrid has an Energy Cost per Mile of $3.29 while the conventional Honda Accord is $2.18. Put simply, over the “Dust to Dust” lifetime of the Accord Hybrid, it will require about 50 percent more energy than the non-hybrid version.

One of the reasons hybrids cost more than non-hybrids is the manufacture, replacement and disposal of such items as batteries, electric motors (in addition to the conventional engine), lighter weight materials and complexity of the power package.

For example, while the industry average of all vehicles sold in the U.S. in 2005 was $2.28 cents per mile, the Hummer H3 (among most SUVs) was only $1.949 cents per mile. That figure is also lower than all currently offered hybrids and Honda Civic at $2.42 per mile.

Get all the facts and figures from the study here. It includes details for many cars on the market. The Lincoln Navigator has a max energy cost per mile of $2.97, which is far less than any hybrid. The Ford Expidition has a max energy cost per mile of $3.41, also less than any hybrid. The GMC Yukon has a max energy cost per mile of 3.29. The Chevolet Astro van has a lean max energy cost per mile of $1.98.

Hat tip to blog The Bethie Bee and reader misaligned_user.

Couple this information with the fact that hybrids’ higher costs does not cover their fuel savings and you’ve got little incentive to buy one.

Be sure to read all of this when you can.

Pining for a Hybrid? Do the Math!

All this sudden fuel-saving fervor is admirable. But the question many consumers may not ask is whether hybrid cars and SUVs really will save them money. There’s no question they achieve superior gas mileage but they don’t cost less to operate, at least not yet.

ConsumerAffairs.Com compared three hybrid vehicles with three top-of-the-line vehicles in the same class by the same automaker. We calculated gasoline costs at $3 a gallon over 120,000 miles and 80,000 miles to arrive at the likely operating costs.

The results would seem to demonstrate that people are buying hybrids for reasons other than saving money.

What’s the Question?

If the question is, will you save money buying a hybrid, we’d have to say it’s not likely. On the other hand if the question is, will buying a hybrid make you feel good, we can’t answer that. It might, at least for a little while.

If the question is, will your hybrid help save the earth, we’d suggest the answer to that is, the earth will save itself. It was here long before we were and will be here long after we’re gone. (It’s the date and method of our departure that hangs in the balance).

Ah, but here’s another factor. In many major metro areas, hybrids are allowed in car-pool (or HOV) lanes. Thus, by buying a hybrid, you may be able to continue driving alone to work, squeezing into the already congested HOV lanes that were created to reduce congestion by reducing the number of cars on the road.

In that scenario, hybrids are a threat to the environment because they contribute to increased congestion. We know from reading our mail that this is not a popular thing to say but, as our editor constantly reminds us, we’re not running a popularity contest.

And do you think those fancy hybrid parts will be cheap to replace when they break?

But I’m sure we’ll continue to see members of the Liberal elite riding around in a Toyota Prius after they get off their private jet. Because somebody will continue to believe the lies!
