Cynthia McKinney Indictment Might Come Today! (*UPDATE No Indictment Today*)

Update 6/16/2006 9:22PM: McKinney beat the charges, see the details here.
——————————————

Today Georgia US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney signed on to a bill honoring Capitol Police. It was strange that she would suddenly sign on as a co-sponsor today, since the last time someone signed on to co-sponsor this bill was over a month ago, back on 4/6/2006.

It appears she probably signed on because the grand jury investigating her hitting a Capitol Police officer has approved an indictment. Today IndependentConservative.com reader “brooklyn” heard on Black Liberal talk radio station WAOK-AM’s news report, that McKinney was alerted of the indictment ahead of it being announced to the media. WAOK-AM is a very McKinney-friendly radio station. Probably the most McKinney-friendly station on earth. So it is highly possible that this is true and she alerted the station, so that her political base would be able to prepare their spin for the media.

If she has been indicted, it would be a good thing. Because she hit an officer. This is not comparable with Patrick Kennedy, because Congressman Kennedy showed police officers respect, in spite of his breaking the law. People who respect police usually are the ones who get more help than people that disrespect them. (Although it is very wrong for police to cover when people do things like driving intoxicated, given that endangers the public.) McKinney’s treatment makes perfect sense, given she disrespected the police. When you respect the police you get a better outcome and that’s the bottom line. We can’t allow people to feel they can take a swing at police officers. So it would good for her to be indicted, convicted and removed from office.

update 5/17/2006 8:39PM:
