Al Qaeda in Iraq Knows They are Losing

When terrorists claim they want to kill American troops it makes top news. But when we find the enemy admitting they are losing it seems to be buried.

I spent a few minutes listening to Rush Limbaugh today. Not a normal in my rotation, but it was good I caught a little of his broadcast. He pointed this out and has the audio clip from his show on his web site.

Seized Papers Said to Show Qaeda in Iraq Is Worried

BAGHDAD, Iraq, May 8 (AP) ? The Council of Holy Warriors, Al Qaeda’s branch in Iraq, is worried that its cells in the Baghdad area are ineffective, with one militant describing their activities as nothing more than a “daily annoyance” to the Iraqi government, according to two documents released Monday by the United States military.

The writer says that the American and Iraqi government forces “were able to absorb our painful blows,” enlist new recruits and “take control of Baghdad as well as other areas, one after the other.”

They are planning to concentrate efforts on Baghdad. Hoping that it allows their forces in other areas to regroup. Well now we know. And with each passing day the Iraqis are doing more of the work themselves.
