When I first heard that CIA Director Porter Goss was resigning, I could not believe it. He was nominated less then 2 years ago and we knew he was planning to make some big changes. To ensure the CIA could better protect Americans. Then he abruptly resigns?!!! I knew it did not smell right. But I figured maybe I’m just jumping the gun. I thought, Maybe there is something I’m under-informed about?… Maybe he did a Patrick Kennedy and it’s going to come out later?… No, I was not missing anything. It seems I was right and I’m saddened that I am correct. Porter Goss was given the boot. He was forced to resign. This was first mentioned on the Hugh Hewitt Show. He was able to speak with folks inside the beltway who are “in the know”. Since then, MSM news outlets have been releasing reports that Goss was indeed fired.

While the panel on Hugh’s show expressed the same anger that I feel, they neglected a very important question. Which is, if the good reformer has been given the boot, what does this say about our President? Is George W. Bush now a pawn of the Liberals? I saw the talk of him leaving and all the nice words being said. I thought just maybe it’s all a front and it was. Because Goss did not want to resign, he was shaking things up too much and was let go. See the video of Goss and Bush making the announcement at Expose the Left.

I think this is terrible for our national security. Porter Goss went in to remove some of the old baggage that was holding back the CIA since before 9/11. He fired a leaker, which was appropriate. And then he was given the boot himself. That is insane! Bush has the borders so open that citizens are running to protect them and now he’s approved of the CIA’s reformer being fired. The replacement will be selected by the Director of Central Intelligence, John Negroponte. Which means the CIA’s role is no longer a true cabinet level position, where the President is responsible for making the pick. This is not good. And Liberals are already eating it up!

Congressman Dave Obey is a big time Liberal and he’s already jumping up applauding Goss’ resignation.

Goss fires a leaker and a Liberal is happy that Goss is leaving. This is a very bad sign! Goss had differences with DCI Negroponte and Goss’ replacement is already lined up.

This is not the kind of “change” I was hoping for in the Bush Administration. Goss was one of the changes made in 2004 that was a change for the better. This means the White House is not going in the direction of true change in our intelligence community, but rather working to keep things the same. While putting up new window dressing and removing a pest (Goss) that invoked change.
