Poll Shows Support For Roe v. Wade Decision Waning

by @ 10:43 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

Polls are continually being done regarding the US Supreme Court decision in the case of Roe v. Wade, which forced states to allow child killing even if the state had laws against it. A Harris poll being performed since 1973 has shown a marked dip in support for baby killing over the years. See the full details at this WSJ.com page.

The percentage that favor the decision has fallen to 49%; the first time it has fallen to that level. Opposition is at 47% and has never gone higher than that, but the change in support may someday reflect in a higher rate of opposition. In the political party breakdown Republicans polled at 61% in opposition to the decision. That was higher than Democrats’ opposition of 43% and Independents had the lowest opposition rate at just 37%. I’m not surprised that Independents ranked so low, given many who claim Independence probably should call themselves American hating Far Leftist Liberals.

Overall 24% felt that baby killing should not be allowed at all. 53% felt it should not be allowed in some cases. Meaning 77% feel there should be some kind of restriction on baby killing.

There was not much optimism from those polled; only 32% of them feel that the Roe v. Wade decision will be overturned. 40% of those polled said they would support laws making it more difficult for someone to kill a baby and 40% felt there should be no change.

This national poll showed that 44% support South Dakota’s abortion ban and 52% oppose it. A Rasmussen poll showed people polled in the state of South Dakota are split at 45% in favor of and opposed to the ban. That polling report did not include a poll of national views of the South Dakota ban, but found that 55% of Americans fell that abortion is morally wrong.

I don’t like putting too much stock in polls, but I think the momentum is shifting in favor of life. We must continue to spread the pro-life message. It really is working. Those who support baby killing are seeing these numbers and will be sure to re-double their efforts to try and spread their culture of death. We must stand strong on opposition and we will see support for life grow.
