Recently I made a post about the sick cult that calls its self the Westboro Baptist Church. A band of nuts led by Fred Phelps Sr. and his daughter Shirley Phelps-Roper does much of their PR work. I thought this was one that all Liberals and Conservatives could agree on. That this so-called “church” is nothing but a band of nuts and legislative efforts to stop them would be a good thing. It turns out the most notorious Left Winged group in the nation is now on Fred Phelps’ side, the ACLU!

update 5/3/2006 11:12AM For the benefit of the few who are constitutionally challenged. A state can make a law that abridges free speech. As all states do. Which is why people who walk a street butt naked can be arrested. You don’t have the “free speech” to do things in public that a state/local government deems to be obscene. And if you don’t think the Westboro Baptist Church is acting in an obscene manner in the public square….you’re nuts!

Decency trumps free speech? Ah..no…

No surprise at all that the ACLU is up to something in protecting someone or something that wants to hurt, emotionally or physically something or someone that is good and decent.
