For many years in America, Blacks had to fight for true justice in towns where kangaroo courts would work hand and hand with biased juries, to reach a pre-determined verdict. This was done after the mob ensured that someone of the group they disliked was charged with a crime, assuming the mob did not carry out the actual sentence in the streets. Now in a modern twist of irony, it is the so-called Civil Rights community that pressed for charges in the Duke Lacrosse rape case and will likely press for conviction. Although Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong has a case that has already crumbled under his feet, he is coming up with arrest and charges against people with tight alibis. It seems that acting on facts is being superseded by acting on emotion and rhetoric. It was emotion and rhetoric that fed lynch mobs. So who in this modern day paradox will stand for a reasonable use of the power of law enforcement? Thankfully there are some Blacks who saw the injustice of the past and can still rightfully call out injustice in modern day America, even when that injustice is done at the request of people who feel they have Blacks’ best interest at heart.

If this woman was raped and it can be proven, we certainly want the offenders prosecuted, but at this point rushing to say the charged Duke players did it is a literal rush to judgement. This is what Michael Nifong has done with his so-called photo line up, where the chances of picking a Duke lacrosse player were 100%.

While some in the so-called Civil Rights crowd claim to desire justice for everybody, the selective timing of their own words are the action that shows their true intentions. Many in that same crowd enjoy speaking badly of people like Thomas Sowell, but I think America now sees who the true standard bearers for justice really are.

Just remember the sides taken in the case of convicted killer and Crips street gang founder Stanley “Tookie” Williams.
