The Actual Condi-Bashing Exam

by @ 11:41 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Regarding the college professor that used a math exam to link US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice with the old stereotype of Black coons and watermelons, RightWinged.com has found a digitized copy of the actual test over at TheSmokingGun. (See page 4 of the exam.)

If you notice in the actual test (which is a sample exam to prepare students for an upcoming test), there are no other names of real people used anywhere in the exam. The only other questions that mention people at all, involve an architect designing a large window for a very wealthy client and a fictitious professor giving a class an algebra exam. (This was an actual exam in 2004 and nobody seemed to complain. Good this year’s class is a bit wiser than the class of 2 years ago.)

The use of Condi and a watermelon is beyond ironic. I feel the professor’s actions were obviously intentional, mean spirited and race based.

None of the typical usual suspects that claim to fight against these kinds of stereotypes are saying a word. A search of the NAACP’s main web site comes up empty. This story has been known for some time now. The silence from these usual suspects is proof of their Liberal bias. With them, you can attack a Black person with race-based attacks, so long as you don’t attack a Black Liberal.

The Seattle Times has this article about the school’s response.

The school’s President has called this an act of “institutional racism”. The unnamed professor has apologized. I think that is enough for this matter. The professor has also agreed to attend “sensitivity training”. How come Blacks that say racist stuff are never sent to that? I know many a Black college professor that has said many a racist statement with no reprimand. I think all should be reprimanded and in some cases fired.

David T. Beito at George Mason University’s History News Network Blog has linked to this post in an attempt to claim that I never spoke out about the “diversity training” instituted at Bellevue Community College after this incident. I guess Mr. Beito did not read this entire post and is playing a little under-informed game of “gotcha” himself. Notice I said:

As I stated, I felt the President speaking out against it and the apology were enough. And I tossed in a little factual sarcasm about “sensitivity/diversity training”. I think it’s good that Mr. Beito is pointing out who is involved in this training and the fact it was expanded, but he should be careful of who he tries to claim is ignoring the matter. We all know this type of training is a Liberal side-show. But an issue Mr. Beito failed to mention is the racial double standard that is applied regarding who usually faces reprimand for being “insensitive”.

Mr. Beito, if you really wanted me and other Conservatives to address this “training” issue, we each have an easy means to be contacted so that we can be alerted to matters that should be addressed. Next time consider using my contact form before you make claims that I never followed up on a matter. (The only reason I knew you said anything at all is because I happened to be checking my logs today and someone clicked your link to my blog.) The school calling in a known race-baiter is not good. But what did you expect from a Liberal campus? The fact they did anything about the “unnamed professor” is a surprise in its self. Their using it to expand Liberal thought is not a surprise at all.

Conservatives should always speak out on matters like this. If it results in Liberals trying to impose their will in an expansion of Liberal training, that only exposes how poor a job they do in policing themselves. The fact that one professor was reprimanded should be enough “training”. And others should not need to be placed in Liberal indoctrination classes because of that. Training for the professor at fault should have consisted of the school President telling them that she is not falling for their B-S excuse and it better not happen again. The fact they were exposed and called on the carpet would be training enough if they value their job.

As I mentioned in my round-up of unhinged teachers last week, and Michelle Malkin had full coverage of here and here, a professor at Bellevue Community College included (wrote) the following, racially charged math question on a test: Condoleezza holds…
