Sean Hannity had on Shirley Phelps-Roper, daughter of the church’s pastor Fred Phelps Sr. and attorney for the so-called church. She totally abused the word of the Lord and claimed our soldiers that die in combat are burning in hell. This band of nuts is the true definition of trying to “judge”, given they claim to know where someone’s soul will spend eternity. Regarding the protests at soldier’s funerals, Phelps-Roper claimed that if Jesus was here he would be with them. (Christians know Jesus lives in the souls of those who love him and do his will, as well as being in Heaven.) Did Jesus ever protest at the funeral of a Roman soldier? No he never did and the Romans were pagans. Our soldiers and military chaplains pray to God. They pray groups like the ACLU will stop trying to prevent them from freely expressing their faith while in uniform. And I’m sure they also pray that the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka Kansas is stopped from being allowed to continue their protests at funerals. Fred Phelps Sr. has established a cult, where he has misled his own daughter to be one of his most ardent defenders. This misguided abuse of the word of the Lord should be loudly denounced by all Christians.
Both Liberals and Conservatives agree, Fred Phelps Sr. and the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka Kansas is a terrible cult.
The Patriot Guard Riders have been blocking this lunacy.

States are also taking legislative steps to stop Phelps and his band of idiots. His “church” is really not much more than himself and his extended family.
Maybe Hannity will have on members of the Patriot Guard Riders in the future.
The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka Kansas is not a “Christian” church. It is a total cult and should not be thought of as anything but that!

Its a shame that these so called “Christians” Are out there spouting their venom.
Isnt it up to God to judge? What these people are doing are just plain sick.
I have been with the patriot guard a couple of times here in Arizona, its sad there has to be people like us out there, but thankfully, we do it.

Ok, sorry to break it to you, but I guess I’m what you would consider a “liberal” based on some of my views, and I don’t see what this Shirley Phelps Roper lady has to do with liberalism. I don’t share any of her views, and actually liberalism is the opposite of what she is stating. Liberals support gay rights and usually tend to not bring up religion, while this lady is against gay right and using religion and the “wrath of God” to protest war. Protesting the war is not a liberal thing if that’s what you’re thinking… I know plently of conservatives and republicans that are against the war right now. In addition, conservatives are actually conservative because they want to “conserve religious morals”, right? I guess that puts this lady in your category!
Anyway I agree with your comment that it’s supposed to be up to God to judge and it’s too bad that people like this are out there. However, I don’t support anyone who’s fanatic one way or another — conservative, liberal, or whatever — and your subject of “liberal is a mental disorder” sounds pretty fanatic to me.
Why don’t you change your subject to “fanaticism is a mental disorder”? That makes more sense given the story above.

Nobody ever said she was either Liberal or Conservative. But given her family’s political ties, they are actually in “your category” if you need to give them a political affiliation.

Who says that they “need” to have a political affiliation? No one NEEDS to have an affiliation with government politics, and remember there are more than two parties.
In any case, why don’t you give some facts showing who her family’s “political ties” are? And please put links to unbiased articles from the primary source (NOT OPINION articles) to support your claims.
From what I’ve read, Phelps tries to get ties with both parties. Here’s an example of ties with Republicans:

Now you agree with the statements that I WROTE above about them not being Liberal or Conservative, but you initiated a conversation about their political ties. See your comment #2 above. Before that nobody said a word about their political affiliations. Then you attempted to brand them “Conservative”. I offered you something to the contrary given your attempt to toss them into a camp. I could have also brought up their love for Castro (Communist) and Saddam (Islamic Socalist). My position has always been that they are nothing but their own little bunch of nuts. You started the poltical branding efforts, so don’t try and run from your position now. It’s you who started it.

It’s sick. These people are picketing Heath Ledger’s FUNERAL because he played a gay character in Brokeback Mountain. GOD HATES HATERS. Isn’t the point of religion to save people and to be a good person? Heath was a good person, a good actor, and a good father. He doesn’t deserve this. But these people believe he’s in hell. They’re wrong. He’s in heaven and they’re going to hell for their ignorance and intolerance. I’m infuriated at this.

SupportHeath - While what those in the cult of Fred Phelps Sr. do is very wrong, you need to understand something. God is not of “religion” He is about those who will be saved knowing His Son.
Heath Ledger never to my knowledge claimed to know the Lord Jesus Christ. This means Heath Ledger did not know the Savior. This means Heath Ledger was not saved, this means Heath Ledger is in hell. Those who don’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ are condemned. Religion does not save anyone, the Lord Jesus Christ saves those who Love Him and those who love Him keep His commandments, including not desiring to be or play as homosexuals. So even without having heard Heath Ledger speak about Christ, I see from his fruit that he probably did not know the Lord Jesus in truth.
Christ desired that each man find one wife and remain with her, not that men would lay with each other, Mark 10:6-9.
SupportHeath, you need to understand, if YOU don’t come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your ONLY hope for salvation, you will land in hell upon your physical death. You should read John 3 and understand that your soul has no hope without Christ. What you perceive to be good of your own heart is not a true witness of God. You must embrace what God has declared is good and you first must come to know His Son, that is step 1.

Did they have to wait until the man is about to go six feet into the ground to protest this actor’s death? Ledger died Tuesday afternoon? Well, they had up to Tuesday afternoon from the time the movie was released to protest. So political. He was battling his demons when he was alive and now the lake of fire.

They always protest the funeral, because that’s where they can get the most attention. That’s fully their intent and they make no secret of that. They are a deluded cult. Jesus said we are to follow Him and allow the dead to bury their own, Matthew 8:22.
Unless Heath Ledger truly accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in secret sometime just prior to his death, he currently resides in hell, awaiting judgment, which will result in the lake of fire for him and eternal damnation.
