First they said give the masses free condoms and we’ve still got a society hooked on fornication, plus all the “reaping” that comes with it. Now Senators Harry Reid and Hillary Rodham Clinton think passing out free birth control pills is going to bring a different result. These insults to my intelligence would be laughable, if they were not in positions of political influence.
Abortion debate shuns prevention
|
This is the typical Liberal method of viewing the world. See the symptom and try to cover it up. Although Harry Reid really is a pro-life Senator and Hillary is not, this view from them is a sham that mask the real issue. A reprobate culture that is spinning towards more immorality and having to endure the consequences that come with it.
Half of the 6 million pregnancies each year in this country are unintended, and nearly half of these unplanned pregnancies end in abortion. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Notice the term “unplanned pregnancies”. This means people are too often having sex outside of wedlock and the irresponsibility they exhibit in personal choices is also reflected in their lack of desire to own up to their responsibilities. These kinds of people have been given free condoms and seem to be incapable of using them. Later in this piece the Senators propose more birth control pills, as if this will bring some kind of order to society.
Most of these unintended pregnancies — and the resulting abortions — can be prevented if we eliminate the barriers that prevent women from having access to affordable and effective contraception.
So the free condoms available everywhere is not enough? Now they must have MORE? More efforts to help those who are in the mist of sin to be slicker sinners? The condoms did not stop this from happening and pills, patches and shots won’t either. Even if people who live irresponsibly were given a yearly shot, that would lead to them probably having the same unprotected sex that they already have and the diseases that come with it. With the deterrent of possibly making a baby removed from the minds of some irresponsible people, they would go on and cry for more free penicillin shots, while fornicating more often.
In the Senate, we have long championed the Prevention First Act. This legislation would help to reduce the rates of unintended pregnancy in our nation, decrease abortions and improve access to women’s health care.
Our proposal includes common- ground, common-sense policies.
It makes family-planning services more accessible to low-income women. It improves awareness and understanding of emergency contraception, a poorly understood yet highly effective form of contraception.
Excuse me Senators, but doesn’t Planned Parenthood already have sites setup in poor communities. Giving them free pills, condoms, non-faith based advice and this “emergency contraception” (Plan B pill), which really is a form of abortion in many cases. And we know in addition to the “Plan B pill”, that RU-486 would eventually be pushed. Which kills both mother and child in some cases. The end result would be government taking part in abortion. While skewing statics to give the appearance that there are less. We already know states with laws that make it harder for people to have abortions end up having a populous with less abortions. And we already know the State of South Dakota has found an effective way to stop most of the abortions that were occurring in that state, ban them. Baby killing should never have government sanction and would be best pushed into a back alley like other common forms of murder.
It ensures that government-funded sex education programs provide medically accurate information about contraception.
Again helping sinners to keep on sinning. Instead of allowing parents to teach their children about sensitive topics, the government feels they much teach people about sex. Will the government teach them that the wages of sin is death?
It also ends insurance discrimination against women. Right now, many policies cover Viagra, but not prescription contraceptives. That is wrong, and our legislation will change it.
Wait a second. The 2 are not comparable! I’m not some kind of Viagra advocate, but wouldn’t that pill help someone that wanted to make a baby, while contraceptives have the opposite effect? I’m not seeing how Viagra is equal to birth control pills. If you wanted to say something about pills that increase a woman’s libido, then you might have a comparable argument.
This is an example of government trying to interfere with private business. A private insurance company should not have to cover contraception if they do not wish to do so. Those who wish to fornicate should not be getting help to do so in a sly manner via government enforcement. A married couple that has a child is doing a good thing. And the more children a married couple have, the less sex they have because of trying to manage the kids
.
I know some women take “the pill” to prevent intense pain, bleeding and other issues. Just the same, private insurance should be managed by the private insurance company and not the government. There are lots of issues of medical pain and coverage that these Senators are not saying a word about and that is not their focus here.
Ironically, those advocating the loudest for an outright ban on abortion are too often the same people who oppose prevention initiatives and instead support making contraception less accessible, particularly for low-income women who are more likely to have unplanned pregnancies.
For example, a recent analysis by the non-partisan Guttmacher Institute revealed that South Dakota is one of the most difficult states for low-income women to obtain contraceptives.
So because Conservatives are against helping people sin and also against seeing people kill babies we are the bad guys? I know Senator Harry Reid often votes pro-life, but I’m starting to wonder if his motivates are based in morality or just the desire to stay in office? Hillary is always trying to abuse government to facilitate sin, by way of baby killing and ways to facilitate fornication. So I’m not surprised by anything she signs onto.
Unfortunately, the same hypocrisy applies when it comes to funding programs that support women who choose to carry their pregnancies to term. President Bush and the Republican majority in Congress have promoted budget cuts for a wide range of programs that would provide critical supports for low-income pregnant women and their children. This includes cuts to maternal and child health programs, child care programs, the Community Services Block Grant and the Healthy Start program.
And again they repeat the big Liberal lie. That the biggest discretionary spending President of all time actually made a budget cut. Because the President did not increase funding for some programs, Liberals claim he made a cut. That Bush “fuzzy math” line comes to mind. If I bought 1 orange in the year 2000, 2 oranges in 2001, 3 oranges in 2003 and 3 oranges in 2004, where did I cut back on buying oranges?
We agree that it makes the most sense to prevent unintended pregnancies in the first place — and we believe we should also fund programs that support women who choose to carry their pregnancies to term and raise healthy children.
…
And the all time leader in discretionary spending continues to do plenty of that. Also, these nuts forget that states offer health care programs for low income people. Allowing people to keep some of their federal tax dollars allows them to save money. And the President’s medical savings accounts allow people to save their money for any medical need. This helps to encourage responsible spending by individuals. Unlike many of our President’s spending policies. Sorry Senators, but when it comes to spending, you can’t fool anybody when it comes to President George W. Bush. And we know people are able to get medical care for their babies. Now if you help us in building that wall to keep out more illegal aliens, we might continue to have money to help American babies with. Americans can send money to help babies in Mexico at their own personal discretion.
Not to mention, Conservative efforts to go after fathers who try and abandon their children ensures that babies have more funding for care and possibly see their father more often.
I am surprised that Senators Reid and Clinton would attempt to pull this con game on Americans. Their efforts do nothing to address the real problem, that this a society caught up in immoral behavior, irresponsible actions and entitlement minded.
