On a peripherally-related note, I hate it when politicians ask how in the world our country is supposed to gather and send 11 million illegals out of the country. They make these stupid claims that it would take thousands of buses stretched for thousands of miles. Well, that's a red herring of an argument. How did the illegals get here in the first place? They came on their own. If you fine employers severely and the jobs and opportunities for illegals dry up, they will also LEAVE ON THEIR OWN! It wouldn't (nor does it have to) happen overnight. It took them a while to all get here and it would take them a while to go back. But they would go back. We would just have to make sure that the borders are one-way. Easy to go out and hard to get back in.

Sadly, I think this is a losing battle. Our gutless, worthless politicians don't have the courage to do what needs to be done -- FOLLOW THE LAWS! Twenty years ago, they passed an amnesty (and fines/crackdown) law and we had 3 million illegals. Now we have 11 million (I think it is MUCH more, though). Our stuped politicians are about to pass another amnesty law and I'm sure we will be discussing this again in twenty years. However, then we will be talking about 50 or 60 million or even more. And by that time, we'll be a bi-lingual country who is being forced to honor Mexican holidays. And many of our policitians will be hispanic and they will be even more eager to open up our borders to all comers.

It just makes me angry and sick to think about it.

As I've always said, I'm all for immigration. But it has to be LEGAL immigration. And I have no patience or tolerance for those who don't respect our laws.

The way I see it, this may be the last chance we have to avoid becoming the northern annex of Mexico.
