While men appropriately face stiff penalties when they abuse children, women are getting off easy.

If she was a man, the case would proceed and the prosecutor would say that protecting society from a child predator is paramount. The case would have proceeded even if the victim was reluctant to testify.

Women are being allowed to abuse children and get away with it. In time this will open the door to all child molesters getting off easy. We have seen, even when charges stand in cases involving females the sentence is light. Granted these cases are not happening in the same area, but our society is allowing women to get away with a terrible crime. This will result in more teachers and other females with authority over youth abusing our youth. Because female abusers that might be holding some restraint will now have less reason to restrain themselves. As more light sentences come for females, defense attorney’s for men that abused children will demand comparable sentencing.

Debra Lafave should have done a long prison term and all the other punishment that would happen to a man.
