I would have preferred a much longer sentence and thought that might happen after she turned down a plea deal. But the judge has ruled.
Woman who married teenage boy pleads guilty to statutory rape

Was the judge’s sentence of “9 months” done as some sort of joke? Given the baby they made together.
I have a strong feeling that if this same judge was dealing with a similar case where a man did this to a young girl, he would have handed down a much stiffer sentence. If Lisa Clark was a man that abused a female, people would be outraged by this verdict. Women being allowed to get off easy is not going to help prevent this from happening more frequently.
On a side note, for you folks who live in GA or heard about the James Sullivan sentence. I think he should have gotten the death penalty for what he did.

How Hypocritical.
SO the guy had sex, and she got knocked up, welcome to life, I hate to tell you folks the but underage kids are having sex with
‘older’ people every day, the fact that he nailed her at the wrong time of the month is somehow a crime ?
It seems to be OK for a 22 yr old guy to knock up a 15-16 yr old girl, but if it’s the other way around NOW it’s a problem ??
I don’t get it. So what if she is 37, or 27, or 21, or 16, this is a lot more common than you think, TRUST ME.
And I find it VERY hard to belive this ‘boy’ should be home watching Harry Potter, or learning to be an Eagle Scout, some
folks don’t understand some 13-14-15 yr olds are way further along in their maturity beyond their age (which is just a
number anymore).

Whiskey - You used an appropriate ID for yourself. Because anyone speaking the way you do must be drunk!
You are a prime example of the reprobate mentality in the mind of some people today.
Here in Georgia it is NOT OK for a 22 year old to do the same with a 15-16 year old girl. Which is why it was not OK for Lisa Clark to do what she did. The minor may not have the discipline to do better, but an adult woman of 37 years old certainly should and if not she deserves more than 9 months in prison.
Her and views like yours are destructive to any society!

I am from England and have been following this case for a while now after watching an inerview on the Tyra Banks show. I have to say that if it were a clear case of an adults’ persuit of a minor then I agree the sentenceshould have been more severe, however I don’t think it is as clear cut as this.
From the (admittedly small amount) of research I have done, it seems that the persuing was not committed by Ms CLark, but she was persued by the boy in question. I am not saying that this means that she has done nothing wrong, but it maybe makes it more understandable.
Personally I think it is a terrible shame, and only wish that she had known his actual age before alling in love with a 15 year old boy. I do not think that this ‘child’ is blameless in this case, and I just think the entie thing is just a terrible shame for all involved.
I also commend Ms Clark, as I believe that she has stood prowd thoughout the trial and has stood up and allowed herself to be judged as who she is and what she had done, without comprimising herself.

Sweet Aurora, you’re comments are pretty disgusting and condoning of the abuse of a minor. The 15 year old boy was the playmate of Lisa Clark’s son, so she knew he was a minor. To paint this as a matter of “the boy went after her” is a crock. And even if true, for a grown 37 year old woman to allow a 15 year old to engage in fornication with her is disgusting.
Clark is disgusting and so is the condoning of her actions and making her seem like some kind of great woman that deserves to be commended. She deserves a longer jail sentence, public scorn and nothing more.
It is interesting how this one has the reprobates coming out of the woodwork!

Grandma Judy Hayles is in a Rage and So Am I, About the Lisa Lynnette Clark Plea Deal
You can watch the video report here, produced by Atlanta’s CBS 46 news.
I am in total agreement with Judy Hayles who mentions:
Angry is not even a word, I’m in a rage. That they would take this sick old hag pedophile and let her stay 9 …

Some of you folks have your heads buried in the sand, wake up.
As I said: law or no law: this happens ALL THE TIME, and the ‘older’ person is prosecuted (or is it persecuted ?) what,
maybe 2% of the time ?
Now, I didn’t say it was RIGHT - I said it happens all the time, but for Ms. Clark, it’s a crime ?
I just can’t believe folks are totally blind to this - I can count off a dozen 16-17 yr old guys I know that had
sex with ‘plenty’ of married women that were from 30 to 47 years old - it happens, and it’s a lot more common than you
will ever obviously be able to believe.
‘playmate of her 15 yr old son’ - that just KILLS me I’m laughing so hard……… what on earth do 15 yr old boys do
when ‘playing together’, play with building blocks, lego sets, twister ? WAKE UP WORLD !
March 17th, 2006 at 1:12 pm
As I’ve mentioned in other posts, this whole mess started when the boy was about 13.
I’m not as blind as you think. I fully realize it is going on. It is YOU I am trying to WAKE UP to the fact that IT SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED!
You are witnessing a society headed down a very immoral path and the results will not be good. We have to strive for better.
Clark got off easier than she should have.
Laws to enforce some sort of civil order in society were established for a reason. To prevent the fall from within experienced by previous societies.

DID YOU MISS THIS PART OF MY POST: ???????????
‘Now, I didn’t say it was RIGHT - I said it happens all the time, but for Ms. Clark, it’s a crime ?’

If you do not feel it is a crime, then you accept it being done.
Of course it is a crime for her. And a man doing the same would have received a more appropriate sentence.
Many of the convicted Catholic Priests that abused boys were sleeping with boys that were 13 years old too. Sometimes victims of abuse that are minors will offer their consent.
You bore me, our discussion is over.
