Christian Universities Stand Against Gay Smear Campaigns

by @ 10:10 pm. Filed under Evangelicals Under Attack

Some gays who feel everyone should treat their sinful actions like something ordained by God are on a bus tour. A real bus tour, to visit Christian and military schools, to try and influence people at those schools. They are under the delusion that their efforts are similar to the efforts of the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s. They fail to see that Christian ministers who were with the movement of the 1960’s supported it because Jesus never wanted anyone to discriminate based on race. That is also why ministers who supported segregation like Jerry Falwell today understand integration is the better way. Today Christians stand against promotion of the gay lifestyle because it is sinful and clearly not ordained by God. The gay lifestyle is just that, a lifestyle. But as I’ve mentioned before, “Gays and pro-gay sympathizers want to turn sin into acceptance”. So while their efforts are not on par with the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s, they are trying to use the same playbook. And instead of Christian ministers leading their efforts, they are finding that Christian ministers of all races are the main ones appropriately standing against the promotion of sin. Gays have been particularly upset that polls show Blacks are mostly against many efforts by gay activists actorvists. It is well known that most Blacks practice the Christian faith, which stands against promotion of the gay lifestyle. Even in majority Black places outside of the USA, like in Jamaica the gay lifestyle is not endorsed. (I do not agree with folks in the Caribbean that want to do gays any harm and I have found that unfortunately there are far too many in Caribbean areas that unofficially condone doing gays physical harm.)

So the gay tour visited Jerry Falwell’s Liberty University. Falwell is the university’s chancellor and told them he would not allow his school to be used as a pro-gay side-show. So they knew they were not welcome. In their deluded minds they feel this is like when Blacks were kept from some schools. Because they are trying to equate their sin with the color of my skin. Well they learned that Liberty University is teaching students the truth and will not allow the promotion of sin on campus.

Gay Rights Activists Arrested at Liberty University

LYNCHBURG, Va. — More than 20 gay rights activists were arrested on trespassing charges Friday when they stepped onto the campus of Liberty University, the school founded by the Rev. Jerry Falwell.

Many of the activists were part of Soulforce, a Lynchburg-based group on its first stop of a nationwide “Equality Ride” tour to promote gay rights at the nation’s conservative Christian universities and military academies.

Some 60 people, including 35 members of the Equality Ride bus tour, gathered for the late morning rally on a sidewalk outside the school’s main entrance. A music group played guitars and sang 1960s peace songs.

The 20 activists who actually entered the campus were arrested immediately.

Several Liberty students spoke to the Soulforce members. But the group didn’t always find support. Comparing homosexuals to drug users and adulterers, Liberty senior Tray Faulkner said the university disapproves of any alternative lifestyle. “I know you guys don’t think it’s a sin,” he said. “We do.”

It is good to see that not only Jerry Falwell, but the students stood against the promotion of sin on their campus. And they told the unwelcome visitors that the activity they promote is a total sin.

The gay bus tour plans to try and promote sin at Pat Robertson’s Regent University on Monday. They are upset that the school has decided not to speak with them and has rules against actions that violate Biblical standards.

Regent University Uninvites Equality Riders, Banning the Gay Activists from Campus

The activists recently discovered that the University does have a stated policy that appears to ban homosexual enrollment. The handbook reads “…homosexual conduct or any other conduct, which violates Biblical standards, is prohibited.” While the school maintains the policy refers to behavior, the Equality Riders are concerned it may be a form of discrimination.

This is why it is of critical importance that Christians fight against attempts to get government to give special recognition to the gay lifestyle. Because if those efforts become more successful, they will use the power of government force to impose their will on Christian Universities. They would be able to get Christian schools’ tax exempt status pulled. It was appropriately done regarding Bob Jones University, when they had rules that were based on race. We cannot allow sin to be treated like race. Because if that happens, then all Christian institutions are in jeopardy of being forced to either promote sin or dissolve. And yes Christian institutions would be forced to not just “accept” but “endorse” the lifestyle. If you think I’m lying, look at how institutions across the country are pressured to “endorse” diversity in regards to race today. If people who promote sins like the gay lifestyle have their way and make people think of sin like the color of my skin, they will play up their sin as a form of “diversity”.

Now when we Christians call sex outside of the wedlock of one man and one woman a sin, we are decried as having made statements of “hate speech” and being “intolerant”. It is interesting how the advocates of sin are so intoler…
