Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels was almost killed in 1992. There is evidence that shows it was a mafia hit ordered by John A. (Junior) Gotti. But at each trial, in typical mob trial fashion, Gotti gets off. The latest trial was the 2nd attempt to convict Gotti. And this time Gotti got help from an unexpected source. Sliwa’s radio show co-host, Liberal attorney Ron Kuby.
Daily they would debate each other on the radio show, with Sliwa representing the Conservative side of issues and Kuby being his Liberal self. But Sliwa always thought of Kuby as a friend. Someone who saw the negative impact the hit had on his life. It appears Mr. Sliwa was wrong about Kuby.

And Sliwa’s life is still in danger. A mobster or wanna-be could try and kill him again at any time.
To think he’ll actually have to look at the man who helped his enemy. The radio station should suspend the show and consider a way to allow them out of their contracts. While them being on the air Monday might be good for ratings, this is a matter of someone’s life. Mr. Sliwa should not feel obligated by a contract to have to face someone that helped his enemy. It’s nice to forgive, but I don’t think Mr. Kuby has Sliwa’s best interest at heart. So Mr. Sliwa has every right to have hard feelings towards Mr. Kuby.
