Catholic Charities Halts Massachusetts Adoptions After Government Tries to Force Them to Give Children to Gays

As America’s moral core is turned on it’s head, those who remain faithful to the teachings of Christ sometimes have to make hard choices.

Catholic Charities to halt adoptions over issue involving gays

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Archdiocese’s Catholic Charities said Friday it would stop providing adoption services because state law requires them to consider gays and lesbians as parents.

The social services arm of the Roman Catholic archdiocese has provided adoption services for about a century. But it says state law allowing gays to adopt runs counter to church teachers on homosexuality.

The state’s four Catholic bishops said earlier this month that the law threatens the church’s religious freedom by forcing it to do something it considers immoral.

Catholic Charities is doing the right thing. If they cannot do their MINISTRY OF CHARITY while remaining faithful to the teachings of Christ, then it’s time to focus on other areas of charity and fight to be allowed to perform adoptions to families in the order proclaimed by Jesus.

Mark 10:6-9 (New King James Version)

6) But from the beginning of the creation, God ?made them male and female.?
7) ?For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
8) and the two shall become one flesh?; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9) Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.?

God never intended for people to have sex out of wedlock. States got rid of their morality laws against fornication and adultery years ago. Some ended their laws by choice and others were forced to by courts. God never intended for any marriages except 1 man and 1 woman. States have gotten rid of their sodomy laws, some by choice and others by the Lawrence v. Texas US Supreme Court ruling. Some states are even trying to allow gays to call themselves “married”, while most states are fighting against that. This is how sin’s slippery slope makes for a one way ride to hell.

Catholic Charities should do adoptions in states where they are allowed to do it within the confines of the teachings of Jesus.

Single parents are allowed to adopt, because someone can be single and not living in sin. But the gay lifestyle is a total sin and against the will of God.

By trying to force Catholic Charities to do something immoral, Massachusetts has helped to ensure that states trying to ban gay adoption will do so for certain now. Just as they did with the issue of marriage.

Drives to ban gay adoption heat up in 16 states

Efforts to ban gays and lesbians from adopting children are emerging across the USA as a second front in the culture wars that began during the 2004 elections over same-sex marriage.

Steps to pass laws or secure November ballot initiatives are underway in at least 16 states, adoption, gay rights and conservative groups say.

16 states in play

Where bills are being drafted or discussed: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and West Virginia.

Yet another reason I love living in Georgia.
