Poll Shows Most Americans Feel Baby Killing is Morally Wrong

by @ 12:01 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

It sure is interesting how the main stream media (MSM) seems to miss poll results like these.

Abortion Issue Remains Challenging for Americans

March 7, 2006–Three-out-of-five Americans (61%) know someone who has had an abortion. That fact adds a sobering reality to all political discussions on this contentious issue. The issue has moved to center stage in South Dakota where Governor Mike Rounds (R) has signed sweeping legislation banning most abortions in the state.

A Rasmussen Reports survey found that 55% of Americans believe abortion is morally wrong most of the time. Just 32% disagree. Americans under 50 are a bit more likely than their elders to believe that abortion is morally wrong.

Among those who know someone who has had an abortion, most (55%) believe the procedure is morally wrong most of the time.

The Rasmussen Reports survey found that 47% of Americans believe it is too easy for a woman to get an abortion in the United States. Twenty-one percent (21%) say it is too hard, while 21% say the balance is about right.

So according to the poll, a majority of Americans feel that baby killing is morally wrong and a plurality of Americans feel it is too easy to kill a baby in America.

This shows there is still hope for this nation. It also shows that the Liberals who like to force states to allow people to kill their babies are probably going to continue losing in their efforts.

In South Dakota, Rasmussen found that an even higher percentage of people feel abortion is morally wrong (60%), although they are split on the state’s newly established ban on baby killing.

South Dakota: Abortion Issue Center Stage

A Rasmussen Reports survey finds that South Dakota voters are evenly divided on the issue–45% support the ban the governor just signed, and another 45% oppose it.

The poll also found that most South Dakota voters (55%) know someone who has had an abortion. Sixty percent (60%) say abortion is morally wrong most of the time.

Forty-four percent (44%) say it is too easy for a woman to get an abortion in South Dakota. Twenty-five percent (25%) say that it’s too hard while 19% say that the balance is “about right.”

Governor Rounds enjoys high Job Approval ratings and is seeking reelection. Democrats in the state have not been able to find a challenger. Rounds issued a statement saying “In the history of the world, the true test of a civilization is how well people treat the most vulnerable and most helpless in their society. The sponsors and supporters of this bill believe that abortion is wrong because unborn children are the most vulnerable and most helpless persons in our society. I agree with them.?

So if the poll is correct, although most in SD realize that baby killing is wrong, 25% of those who understand it is wrong are against banning it in their state. The message has to be sent that ending an innocent life is real murder. It will probably be easier to reach that 25% who know it’s wrong, but are against the ban. It will be much harder to convince the other 40%, that feel baby killing is A-OK. It is sad that so many in SD (and across America) can feel that killing babies is not morally wrong.

We don’t want more people falling into this category.

Romans 1:28-32 (New King James Version)

28) And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29) being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30) backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31) undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32) who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Pray for the unborn and may God Bless America.
