It is amazing to think this man was actually teaching a class full of children. Offering his Liberal America hating anti-Judeo/Christian spin to them as some form of class lesson.

Michelle Malkin has all the details and this article, that includes audio a student taped of the teacher in action. (Good job to Sean Allen, who taped the teacher.) You have got to hear the audio! Mr. Bennish has been put on leave. It’s time for him to be fired.

In a Republic we should not have Socialists and Communists teaching our children. We also should not have teachers teaching our children to hate the efforts of their own nation to protect their lives. And we should not have teachers who trash the Bible running a class either.

Jay Bennish claimed he was trying to get kids to think critically about the world. But it was obvious it was nothing more than indoctrination into pure isolationist Communism. He made statements at the end about “trying to get you to think”, to cover his extended rant. When he was challenged by a student (I think it was Sean Allen), the teacher would continually bash the student’s opinion. It’s interesting how all these so-called “critical thinkers” only BASH AMERICA. They never have a negative critical word in their rants for the enemies of America.

The bottom line is that any rules or efforts by PUBLIC SCHOOL teachers and officials to prevent a student or parent from recording a teacher should be stopped! The public is allowed to know what our elected officials do and say via Freedom of Information. It needs to be the same with the PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.

update (3/2/2006 10:24AM ET): One student interviewed says that they hear that kind of talk ALL DAY from about 3/4 of their teachers. (See the video report in the news article.) It is time for Americans to TAKE BACK THEIR SCHOOLS!!!

update (3/2/2006 12:50PM ET): Some students who enjoy spun politics over an actual geography class are protesting Jay Bennish being put on leave. (There are also counter protesters.) More proof that what goes on in schools should always be recordable. So we can ensure that geography classes are actually teaching geography and not Communist Anti-Westernism 101.
