Al Franken was on the Michael Medved Show yesterday and after Michael asked him several times WHY did Bush go to war in Iraq, Franken had to admit the truth. Initially Franken would say “I don’t know”, which would play well with his “Bush lied” far left base of fans. But then Michael Medved asked him if he thinks Bush went to war because he felt it was in the nation’s best interests. And Al Franken answered “sure”. Of course being Franken he had to quickly try and obfuscate his acknowledgement, but he admits it was not to line his own pockets, steal oil and all the other loony far left excuses. Maybe he admitted the truth because he’s running for office? Whatever his reasons for admitting the truth that Bush acted in what he felt was the nation’s best interests, it probably won’t go over well with his far left base.

This also means that a member of the far left admits that Bush did not intentionally lie about reasons for going to war.
