A Mexican state has shut down the alternative medicine hospital where Coretta Scott King died earlier this, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports this morning. The paper also talks to her doctors, who say “she was going down fast,” and staff who say they didn’t know who she was until her medical records arrived.

“Health Secretary Francisco Vera Gonzalez said in a press release that Hospital Santa Monica was found to be conducting surgeries, X-ray procedures and internal medicine without appropriate authorization.

“Inspectors, prompted by King’s death to review hospital records, visited the two-story concrete hospital on Thursday, Vera Gonzalez said, and also found unconventional treatments and unknown substances.”
