UAE Boycotts Israel and Fines US Exporters That Do Not Comply!

by @ 8:36 pm. Filed under Terrorism and War

When will this be discussed during the 45-day review of Dubai Ports World?

(Best to read the full article.)

Exclusive: Dubai ports firm enforces Israel boycott

The parent company of a Dubai-based firm at the center of a political storm in the US over the purchase of American ports participates in the Arab boycott against Israel, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

“Yes, of course the boycott is still in place and is still enforced,” Muhammad Rashid a-Din, a staff member of the Dubai Customs Department’s Office for the Boycott of Israel, told the Post in a telephone interview.

“If a product contained even some components that were made in Israel, and you wanted to import it to Dubai, it would be a problem,” he said.

Moreover, the Post found that the website for Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone Area, which is also part of the PCZC, advises importers that they will need to comply with the terms of the boycott.

On at least three separate occasions last year, the Post has learned, companies were fined by the US government’s Office of Anti-boycott Compliance, an arm of the Commerce Department, on charges connected to boycott-related requests they had received from the Government of Dubai.

US law bars firms from complying with such requests or cooperating with attempts by Arab governments to boycott Israel.

In one instance, according to a Commerce Department press release, a New York-based exporter agreed to pay a fine for having “failed to report in a timely manner its receipts of requests from Dubai” to provide certification that its products had not been made in Israel.

So the United Arab Emirates not only fails to recognize Israel, they have an active boycott in effect against Israel. And they have been forcing US companies to comply via fines! It is insane to think that our President is trying to defend having Dubai Ports World manage any of our ports. A company run by a nation that is forcing us to comply with their boycott against a nation we fully recognize. And Israel is a heck of a lot stronger ally in the war on terror.

State of the Black Moonbats aka State of the Black Union 2006

by @ 11:36 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

The annual meeting of allied Black Liberal Nuts took place this past weekend in Houston, Texas. Also known as the “State of the Black Union”. It’s a who’s who of nuts and fruits that join together in the name of crying about racism, bashing Bush and trashing Conservatives. This year’s format did allow for some sensible views early on, but eventually it turned into the usual piece of race-baiting political trash it always is and always will be.

First, let’s look at who was behind this nut fest. Tavis Smiley! The same man who went to Venezuela with Harry Belafonte to see Hugo Chavez and the so-called benefits of his socialist empire. As I pointed out in that previous post, the idea was for them to return to the USA and continue to press socialism on the masses. That is the true goal, being done with a Black Nationalist twist. Early on in this nut fest many Blacks who are involved in various businesses were allowed to speak. They spoke of how people need to work hard and do for themselves. How people can make capitalism work for them. This part of the event plays to people who want to see something more positive come from this event, but that really is not the HIGHLIGHT and given Mr. Smiley’s associations not the true goal. The true highlight and expressed goals came later in the 2nd half of the event. Where every nut-job with Black Socialist and Black Nationalist rhetoric spewed their bile and the crowd cheered them on. (It’s the same at all these kinds of events. You seen one, you’ve seen them all.)

Here’s a look at some of the nuts that were there:

These allies of America’s enemies should NEVER be trusted!

They were upset that President Bush did not send anyone in response to their invitation. Given the way our President was treated at the funeral of Coretta Scott King, I would have recommended that President Bush send them a hot pile of dog poop! These are the same people that trashed him before he became President and used race-bait to lie about him. They are the same people that do the same now. And they are the same who will trash him after he is gone from office. So Bush was being nice by not even sending them a jar of his hot toe jam! Which is the best they deserve from him.

And of course they played on race-bait regarding New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina. Never mind the outpouring of money and support given by the government (via taxpayer funds) and private citizens’ donations.

It was interesting how the Moonbats in the 2nd part of this event, which featured the known names and so-called leaders ignored the suggestions of people who have done well in business for themselves. Instead of hard work, they continue to blame everybody else and cry racism. Of course they trash Black Conservatives and claim we are doing the bidding of racists. Never mind it is those so-called leaders with their cries of Blacks being so held down who actually support real White racists’ claims of Black inferiority. While Black Conservatives want to do away with social programs and see Blacks do for themselves, these Liberal nuts want more and more, which White racists use to support their claims that Blacks can’t do a thing for themselves!

Laura Ingraham spoke about the event and gave a balanced report. She spoke of the good and bad that took place. One caller attempted to bash Laura for speaking against the Moonbats. The caller claimed that since Laura is not Black she will never know and can never speak on the issues. Being Black myself I know Laura can speak on the issues. The same way those Moonbats are able to speak about everyone else! But the Moonbats get defense while non-Black Conservatives get attacked as if they “don’t understand”. You don’t have to be Black to realize when somebody is headed in the WRONG DIRECTION. And thank God for more people speaking out against the Moonbats! People of all races that work hard, value education and hold strong values have always done well in America. And I know that, because being Black I’ve found that it works for anyone of any race.

Expose the Left has video of Moonbat Al Sharpton speaking about the event.

update (2/28/2006 4:34PM ET):
NewsBusters has more coverage of Belafonte’s remarks. The exact quote of his statement about bin Laden is:

Belafonte: U.S. Troops “Murder People” and Bin Laden Is Innocent?

“So, I say, let us redefine terrorism. It is not just bin Laden sitting in Afghanistan, if it is in fact he who did what they said he did.”

When nuts like that are invited to an event, you know it’s no good.

Coast Guard Did Not Know How Risky the Ports Deal Might Be

by @ 10:11 am. Filed under Terrorism and War

Add this to the initial objections of Homeland Security and you see this deal is not as wonderful as some make it out to be.

Coast Guard Said It Couldn’t Assess Risk in Port Deal

Feb. 27 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. Coast Guard said questions about foreign influence, employees and operations made it impossible to assess the threat posed by a state-owned Dubai company’s purchase of a firm that manages some terminal operations at six U.S. seaports.

“There are many intelligence gaps concerning the potential” for assets owned by DP World or London-based Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co. “to support terrorist operations,” says a December intelligence assessment by the Coast Guard that was released at a hearing today of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

The document wasn’t given to an administration panel assessing the national security risks of the acquisition, but its concerns “were addressed and resolved,” Clay Lowery, an assistant secretary at the Treasury Department, said.

Committee Chairwoman Susan Collins was skeptical. “This report suggests there were significant and troubling intelligence gaps,” she told Lowery and Admiral Thomas Gilmour, an assistant commandant with the Coast Guard. “I don’t see how you were able to close those gaps so quickly,” she said. The administration panel approved the deal in January.

All the more reason why all of this needs to come under the control of private or government entities within the USA. So that they are fully subject to all US regulations and nobody has to check with people overseas for anything.

I am now of the opinion that all US points of entry should be fully run by entities within the USA. No matter if the point of entry is land, sea or air. I know making such a change at sea ports would take a very long time. But we certainly can start by not giving the UAE any port management duties.

Georgia Supreme Court Upholds Ruling Against Sheriff Victor Hill in Discrimination Lawsuit

by @ 12:00 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Victor Hill The best way to explain this to people who never heard the name Victor Hill is to say that he’s proof Black people can discriminate too. After being elected as Sheriff of Clayton County, Georgia he initiated a firing campaign against mostly high ranking Whites and people who supported his White challenger. Some of them filed suit on grounds of discrimination and political retaliation, citing the firings as a violation of the Clayton County Civil Service System Act. The Act protects county employees from being fired without cause. They won a summary judgement, which Sheriff Hill attempted to appeal to the State Supreme Court, but the state’s high court has upheld the lower trial court’s ruling.

It is interesting to see a Black Sheriff not only getting slapped with rules that Blacks have used to fight racism, but Sheriff Hill has used every trick at his disposal to try and cover his actions. The same way past racists in that very same county would. What has Victor Hill learned from history? Nothing at all.

Court: Sheriff’s Firings Unjust

ATLANTA (AP) — The state Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling that Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill was unjust in firing 27 deputies his first day in office.

In a six-to-one decision on Monday, the court ruled “that the elected sheriff is not subject to the civil service system, but those occupying positions in his office are.” It says the sheriff’s employees can only be fired for what it calls “good cause and in accordance with civil service system rules and regulations.”

On January 3, 2005 — Hill’s first day in office — he fired 27 deputies — many of whom were white, male and high-ranking. They sued Hill — alleging discrimination and political retaliation by Hill, who is Clayton County’s first black sheriff.

Some of those fired supported the incumbent, white sheriff in the 2004 election.

Will Sheriff Hill respect the court ruling? History shows that’s up in the air. He has defied court orders in the past. The article below is from one of his past actions, not the latest State Supreme Court ruling.

02/16/06 - Workers say Hill defied court order

In Clayton County Superior Court, two defendants — Majors Larry Bartlett and Michael Maddox — signed statements that quoted Hill saying he doesn’t “care what any judge, court order or commissioner say. In fact, I pay as much attention to those judges as I do my that dog in my neighbor’s yard.”

Hill denied those statements and said he won’t be bullied by Miller.

“We’re not going to be intimidated by any lawsuit,” Hill said. “We’re going to fight lawsuits. We’re not going to settle them, but we’re going to appeal them when necessary.”

And with all these appeals THAT HE IS LOSING who’s money is being wasted? The money of the people who elected him and others in the county.

Given all the nuttery, Clayton County officials have been trying to take away some of Sheriff Hill’s responsibilities.

Clayton considers marshal service

Clayton County officials are discussing plans to start a county marshal service that would take responsibility for security at the courthouse and jail away from Sheriff Victor Hill.

County Commission Chairman Eldrin Bell has been meeting with staff members to figure out how the marshal service would be formed and how it would work.

Now for anyone that thinks Victor Hill is the “victim” in all this because he is Black. Consider this, two of the State Supreme Court’s three Black Justices ruled against Sheriff Hill in the 6-1 ruling. County Commission Chairman Eldrin Bell is also Black and the former Atlanta Police Chief.

(Side note: Chairman Bell’s son is former American Idol runner up Justin Guarini. How Justin got his last name, I don’t know, but Eldrin Bell is his father.)

The bottom line is that Victor Hill is nuts.

Clayton County, Georgia has been seeing a bit of a demographic shift and some Black folks new to power are proving to be as evil as racists before them. In a prior incident, the county’s majority Black school board fired the White superintendent for no good reason. (Oh yea, but he was White.) And guess what, Jesse Jackson came running TO WORK WITH THE ABUSIVE BLACKS! The county school system lost it’s accreditation for a short period of time. It was so insane, that even Ultra-Left Winged Liberal Nut Queen Cynthia Tucker wrote this editorial, that sums up the past school board ruckus. (Something similar to this has happend before in New Orleans.)

And hey, I’ve got friends in Clayton County. They think the fools abusing their power are nuts, just like I do. Racist nuts that shame the efforts of the old Civil Rights movement.

Effa Manley Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame

by @ 8:54 pm. Filed under Sports

An honor well deserved.

First Woman Named to Baseball Hall

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Effa Manley became the first woman elected to the baseball Hall of Fame when the former Newark Eagles executive was among 17 people from the Negro Leagues and pre-Negro Leagues chosen Monday by a special committee.

This year’s Hall class — 18, including former reliever Bruce Sutter — is by far the biggest in history. The previous record was 11 in 1946.

Manley co-owned the New Jersey-based Eagles with her husband, Abe, and ran the business end of the team for more than a decade. The Eagles won the Negro Leagues World Series in 1946 — one year before Jackie Robinson broke the major league color barrier.

“She was very knowledgeable, a very handsome woman,” said Hall of Famer Monte Irvin, who played for the Eagles while the Manleys owned the team, as did Don Newcombe and Larry Doby.

“She did a lot for the Newark community. She was just a well-rounded influential person,” Irvin said. “She tried to organize the owners to build their own parks and have a balanced schedule and to really improve the lot of the Negro League players.”

Manley was white, but married a black man and passed as a black woman, said Larry Lester, a baseball author and member of the voting committee.

“She campaigned to get as much money as possible for these ballplayers, and rightfully so,” Lester said.

Manley used baseball to advance civil rights causes with events such as an Anti-Lynching Day at the ballpark. She died in 1981 at age 84.

Given Major League Baseball’s integration of the Negro Leagues, this is another reason why what is now called “Black History” should be fully integrated and called “American History”, which is what it is. No more “Black History Month”. Learn it all as American history.

Learn English!

by @ 2:40 pm. Filed under Education, Illegal Aliens

Here’s another great GTB Blogburst. Written by Heidi over at Euphoric Reality. Shocking information!

As a parent with two kids in Texas schools, I have a pet peeve. I really, really resent that their education is hampered by kids who can’t speak English. I’ve seen classes that move mind-bogglingly slow as teachers have to work one-on-one with children who shouldn’t be there in the first place. It’s enough to make me grind my teeth in frustration!

I am a big proponent of the immersion method of learning a language. It is my firm belief that once in America, immigrants should learn our language, and the best way is by complete and total immersion. When we lived in Mexico, we placed my son into a public school in the local village so that he could learn the language more rapidly. I continued to teach him at home what he needed to know to keep his education above American standards, and his classroom experience was for language purposes only. We asked for no special considerations, we just did what was necessary. It was not easy, but it worked.

That is only one of the reasons it is so offensive to see our tax dollars paying for immigrants, many of them here illegally, to receive special dispensations because they can’t (or won’t) learn our language! But why should they learn, when almost everything is bi-lingual anyways?

Recently in Arizona, an activist judge has ruled that it’s not enough that American citizens pay for a free education for the children of illegal aliens, and it’s not enough that the classes are dumbed-down for non-English speakers, but now the taxpayers must pay exorbitant funds to provide special classes for children who don’t speak English!

One of the most outrageous examples of out-of-control judges is the case called Flores v. Arizona, now pending in federal court in Tucson. Originally filed in 1992, plaintiff lawyers claim to represent an estimated 160,000 children of illegal immigrants attending Arizona public schools.

The case seeks to force Arizona taxpayers to pay for bringing these children, euphemistically called English Language Learners, up to grade level. The lawyers are trying to accomplish this by turning a state legislative issue into a federal judicial command.

The background for attempting to accord special “rights” to non-American, non-English speaking residents was predicated on a case in Alabama where liberals tried to add the word “language” to the Civil Rights Act, thereby making it illegal to discriminate on the basis of language. While the case was originally successful in the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, it was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Based upon that, Arizona Judge Alfredo C. Marquez, appointed by Jimmy Carter, ruled against the Arizona taxpayers, but had enough restraint to recognize that he could not substitute the court’s “educational values and theories for the educational and political decisions reserved to state or local school authorities.” Nevertheless, he tasked the legislature with performing a cost study.

Over the next few years, the Arizona legislature passed three bills for this special funding. However, none of them were as large as Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, a Democrat, wanted and so she vetoed all three. Governor Napolitano wanted the Arizona Legislature to appropriate nearly $1,200 per immigrant child, totaling $192 million, without accountability for how it was to be spent. Obviously, the governor, with the judge’s ruling on her side, could sit and wait until the legislature saw things her way.

Unfortunately, the next judge in succession of Marquez, upped the ante. Appointed by Bill Clinton, Judge Ramer C. Collins, decided to punitively fine the Arizona State Legislature for not funding special accommodations for non-English speaking students.

In December 2005, Collins imposed fines of $500,000 a day, escalating to $2 million a day, for every day that the legislature fails to authorize funding acceptable to the governor.
[…]
Since Jan. 25, millions of dollars in court-ordered fines have been accumulating. If this continues to the end of the legislative session, the fines will total more than $77 million.

Who knew that an activist judge could legislate taxes and state funding?

If there is any issue that should be clearly and exclusively a function of the legislature elected by the people it is the matter of raising taxes and spending the people’s money. Unfortunately, there are many supremacist judges who think they (in this case, a judge and a governor) can order the legislature to raise taxes and tell them how to spend taxpayer money.

While many Americans in other states think that these problems are confined to the four states with Hispanic majorities (TX, CA, AZ, and NM) - think again. Small towns across America are finding their educational systems utterly compromised by an influx of illegal workers and their families: Melrose, MN; Delavan, WI; Herndon, VA; Wassau, WI; Des Moines, IA; Raleigh, NC; Fort Myers, FL; Sioux Falls, SD; Grand Rapids, MI and North Platte, NE. Still think it’s not your problem?!

As one small town resident has said, “I, along with millions of other American citizens, am sick and tried of the politicians and others treating illegal aliens like honored guests! They are not honored, and they are not guests.”

The UniverSoul Circus. A Great Time!

by @ 11:35 am. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

So this past weekend we took the kids to the UniverSoul Circus. It’s a great show and much cheaper than that other better known circus. There was no way I was paying over $100 for a circus. No circus is THAT GOOD. So the UniverSoul Circus offers a good show at a more reasonable price.

We were a little late, but here are the acts we saw and my thoughts on them:

Also the Ringmaster and his Sidekick were able to keep things moving well. One of the great things was the culture of faith and success expressed by the Ringmaster. The motto he used was something like “By believing in yourself and putting God first, you can be anything you want to be”. This is a great message for children. Also there was a portion of the show where they actually had church during the circus. First people were allowed to let everyone know what church they attend and then a couple gospel songs were played for people to sing along with and enjoy. You’re not going to have “church” at that other more expensive circus :D . A circus can buy a lot of things with a high ticket price, but they can’t buy Jesus ;) .

(For the sake of full disclosure, I do have a relative that is behind the UniverSoul Circus. He’s either the owner or some other person involved in running it. I’ve never met him and we are related via marriage. I have to pay for my tickets to the circus and get no special discount. I was not paid or given any incentives to blog about the UniverSoul Circus. I just made this post because I like it.)

Other Foreign Nations Managing Port Terminals

by @ 12:00 am. Filed under Terrorism and War, Unions Destroying America

It is good that Americans now desire that their ports are working with management companies that do not have questionable ties to terrorism. Dubai Ports World would be in familiar company when you look at other government run companies that are managing port terminals in the USA.

For example in Hampton Roads, Virginia there is a who’s-who of suspect nations managing terminals at the port in that town.

Foreign companies abound at Hampton Roads ports (emphasis added)

Besides Maersk, they include Mediterranean Shipping Co., a Swiss-Italian firm; Evergreen Marine Corp. of Taiwan.; China Ocean Shipping Co., the state-owned carrier of the People’s Republic of China; United Arab Shipping Co.; and the National Shipping Co. of Saudi Arabia.

This is just one port in one US city. It’s similar in ports across our nation. I can’t say I feel a level of comfort in this fact and I have no desire to see the number increase.

Of course if it was not for UNIONS more US companies would be better able to manage our sea ports. In the interest of one of America’s most risky points of entry being managed within this nation, it would make sense to disband all port Unions and initiate an effort to have US ports fully managed from within this nation. It has been mentioned that Liberal Democrats suggested that US ports should be managed by groups local to the area the port is in. Similar to how US airports are managed. Honestly I totally agree with the suggestion. All points of entry into a given area should be managed by entities within that town. It would be nice if a private business in each area could do this work, but if no private company can and it must be handled via that area’s local government (using taxpayer dollars) that would be fine with me too. Even if multiple ports were run by a private company within the USA that is based outside of the ports’ town, that would be fine as well. Yes Homeland Security does a good bit of the security at ports and terminal operators do some as well, but American points of entry should be fully managed by America.

Hopefully the current uproar will start a drive towards the goal of port management being run within the USA. This will require getting rid of Unions and hopefully Americans will realize that as well. People are asking “why can’t an American company run our ports?”… Because of the Unions, that’s why. In the interest of America being able to fully manage our sea ports the Unions should be disbanded. Some effort towards the USA managing all entry into the USA needs to be made, or America will continue to be more compromised as a nation.

Congressmen Saxby Chambliss and John Linder Speak on the Ports Issue. Johnny Isakson Still Silent.

by @ 9:42 pm. Filed under Terrorism and War

Although neither is totally against the deal like me, it’s good to see they are at least offering an opinion.

Linder, Chambliss comment on ports controversy

“This is a serious issue, and I am personally very concerned. I believe Congress should be consulted before this particular contract is finalized,” said U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Moultrie. “Congress and the American people deserve an explanation regarding this issue and how it could affect the national security of the United States.”

“While the United Arab Emirates is a partner in the global war on terror, the administration should come to Congress immediately to explain why a country that has recognized the Taliban as legitimate should be entrusted with the operation of six U.S. ports that are so crucial to our economy and has the potential for terrorist infiltration,” Chambliss said. “Congress needs to know what safeguards are being taken to ensure that this proposal will not provide this foreign company access to information and operations that we would normally want to restrict.”
U.S. Rep. John Linder, R-Duluth, said he isn’t worried about security at U.S. ports because of precautions by the Department of Homeland Security, but Linder said Congress should have been briefed on the situation.
Also, Linder said, it revealed a communication problem in the Bush administration.
“It probably should have been discussed very publicly,” he said. “This has caught everybody by surprise, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see (the contract) altered. Somebody should have anticipated this.”

Georgia US Senator Johnny Isakson still has not said a word about this.

Devone Tucker is Right. Jamie Foxx is a Bigot!

by @ 2:54 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Shay over at Booker Rising has found a very interesting one today.

She cites and disagrees with Devone Tucker’s view of a statement made by Jamie Foxx at the NAACP Image Awards.

Here’s what Mr. Foxx said:

Image Awards Honor Jamie Foxx for Music

“It’s good to be surrounded by black folks,” Foxx said. “Black folks are music.”

Mr. Tucker feels this statement was wrong and a White person could never get away with saying something similar about people with their own skin tone. Mr. Tucker is 100% correct and I agree with him 100%.

Many Black people want everybody in the world to be “P.C.” except us.

Black being a culture, it is justifiable to have entertainment or even a network titled “Black”, if it offers Black cultural programming. Sadly BET often shows the worst of Black culture, but that’s another issue. One can even justify having a “Black” awards show, if the focus is Black cultural entertainment and Whites are not excluded. The NAACP has always given Image Awards to both Blacks and Whites, so that is not an issue here. I say the NAACP can keep on giving their awards. I just wish they’d stop trying to reward killers.

It is clear that Mr. Foxx said his statement in regards to skin-tone. He is happy to be in a room filled with people that are closer to his skin tone than George W. Bush. Foxx’s statement shows he feels Blacks are better to be in his company than Whites. It’s a totally bigoted statement.

The reaction to this shows that many folks are accustomed to having the double standard. Because when Trent Lott said Strom Thurmond should have been President, look who had a fit! (A whole lot of Black people.) Hey, old Strom just wanted to be around people that looked like himself :D . So Strom Thurmond was enacting Mr. Foxx’s thoughts as a Presidential campaign. I say Strom was wrong, Lott was wrong and Foxx is wrong.

Now what if a White man wins an award in education and says “White folks are eduction”?
