Tim Russert had a government bashing Christmas with Tom Brokaw & Ted Koppel

by @ 1:27 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

I guess my first mistake was turning on Meet the Press on a Christmas Sunday and hoping for something uplifting. I corrected my error by changing the channel after 6 minutes.

On yesterday’s Meet the Press, Tim Russert’s special holiday guest were Tom Brokaw and Ted Koppel. Just seeing those 3 names together equals a Christmas of giving nothing but Bush bashing, but I decided to take a look and hope for the best. The show teaser said the following:

Meet the Press – Sunday, December 25

In a special holiday edition, “Meet the Press” will feature an exclusive interview with two distinguished journalists, Tom Brokaw, the former anchor of “NBC Nightly News,” and Ted Koppel, the former anchor of ABC’s “Nightline.” They will join Tim Russert for an in-depth conversation about politics and the press, and the year in review.

So where did they begin? Crying about the government response to hurricane Katrina! They cried that the government did not respond “fast enough”. With no mention of how it took the government 5 days to respond after hurricane Andrew. It was the oh so predictable crying and moaning about government. Of course most of it was tossed at President Bush. There was a mention of Ray Nagin being a Black Mayor of a mostly Black city and doing a poor job, but nothing specifically said about Kathleen Blanco. They chewed on some race bait and cried that “subtle racism” was holding Blacks back. No mention of how government programs allow for and promote complacency. Of course there was no mention of the generous outpouring to victims. No mention that most of the identified dead bodies are not of Blacks, although New Orleans was over 60% Black. No mention of how deaths crossed all class levels. And of course no statements made about the people of New Orleans needing to better heed government warnings ahead of time. So after a full 6 minutes of that tripe I was done. I turned the channel away from that garbage!

I think this was just a terrible setup by Russert and others during a Christmas Sunday broadcast. While many news shows opened with stories of hope and faith on Christmas morning, Meet the Press held all of the coal. What a sorry excuse for a “holiday” special. I guess it would have been too much trouble to call it a Christmas special, given it was airing on Christmas morning  ….

Goat Bites Man. God Bless the Goat!

In what can only be described as an odd set of events, Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe ended up being bitten by a goat. In some very sensitive areas!

Blog Israellycool has the details. God Bless that goat! Mugabe deserves worse than that for what he’s done to that nation after the successful removal of the Rhodesians that oppressed Blacks.

In other Zimbabwe news, Zimbabwe’s chief police spokesman killed a 10 year old boy and literally left him in a field to die.

Merry Christmas to all!

Praise be to God for sending his son to earth as a sacrifice for the sins of man. No greater display of love has ever been shown.

And thank the Lord this nation has a leader who knows what Christmas is all about. One who has accepted the Lord as his personal saviour.

Here are some great words from President George W. Bush.

Excerpts from the President’s Radio Address

At Christmas, we give thanks for the gift of the birth of Christ, and for the blessings that surround us every day of the year. In this great and prosperous land, we have so much to be thankful for, and Christmas reminds us of our obligation to share these blessings with others. There are many among us who are hurting and require a helping hand. In the new year, I hope Americans will look for ways to volunteer your time and talents where they are needed most. By reaching out to a neighbor in need, we make our nation a more just and compassionate place.

The times we live in have brought many challenges to our country. And at such times, the story of Christmas brings special comfort and confidence. Christmas reminds us that we can trust in God’s promise of peace on Earth and goodwill toward men. On a night more than 2,000 years ago, an angel of the Lord brought good tidings of great joy: the God of Heaven had come to Earth, and He would be with us always.

Thank you for listening, and Merry Christmas.

Jesus, born of a virgin and died for the sins of man. May all come to know the Lord.

If you are wondering who Jesus is and why he came, Jesus says it best himself:

John 3:1-21 (New King James Version)

1) There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

2) This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, ?Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.?

3) Jesus answered and said to him, ?Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.?

4) Nicodemus said to Him, ?How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother?s womb and be born??

5) Jesus answered, ?Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7) Do not marvel that I said to you, ?You must be born again.?

8) The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.?

9) Nicodemus answered and said to Him, ?How can these things be??

10) Jesus answered and said to him, ?Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?

11) Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.

12) If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

13) No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

15) that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18) ?He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19) And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20) For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

21) But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.?

Amen!

Black Santa, White Santa

by @ 11:46 am. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

Although I’m personally indifferent to the practice, my wife was passionate about our kids having a picture with “Santa Claus” this year. So we went to the mall near our house, waited in line for 2.5 hours and finally got the kids a picture with Santa. Our kids are too young at this point to actually offer their own thoughts on this. But I personally think waiting 2.5 hours for a picture with “Santa” is a sign of mild insanity :D .

This practice of pictures with Santa presents an interesting question in some Black households. The question: “Do you want to go to the mall with the “Black Santa”? For those who did not know, many Black people actually discuss “which Santa” they will take their kids to see. Some people will intentionally by-pass several malls just to get to the mall with the “Black Santa”. The thought being that Black people should see a “Black Santa”. I think this takes what starts as mild insanity into the realm of pure insanity. It’s self segregation at it’s best! Personally I could care less what color the Santa at the mall is. So long as it is a man, who is kind and keeps my kids happy. I’m going to the mall nearest my home or one with a very short line :D .

Now that I’ve spoken of Blacks that search for a Black Santa on Christmas, I must also mention what I’ve witnessed of some Whites. Once in my former hometown of Baltimore, MD a mall in a mostly White area hired a person to be “Santa”. This person happened to be a Black man. There were a flood of complaints from White parents. They could not imagine their children sitting on the lap of a Black man and calling him “Santa”. And this proves that the Santa race insanity is in the minds of Americans of various races.

So let me tell all you parents that feel “race matters” when it comes to Santa something you should have learned by the time you were 10 years old. Santa is not real! He was an invented character based on the life of Turkish Catholic Bishop Nicholas. A Bishop who was raised to the level of Sainthood by the Catholic church, because of his incredibly long list of good deeds during his life. I think everyone should read about the life of Saint Nicholas. It’s an incredible story that shows why some common Christmas traditions are still carried out today. Now who is running to a mall to complain that they want a Turkish Catholic Bishop to play the role of “Santa”? Nobody. So this Santa race madness needs to stop! Because there is no plane from Turkey coming to the USA every year full of Turkish men with white beards. In fact, I’d enjoy watching the reactions of some parents, if a mall actually hired a Turkish man to play the role of Santa in a mall outside of a majority Muslim community in America.

It is a shame that the role of a mall Santa can’t be filled by the best qualified candidate regardless of race.

Now whether or not parents want to tell there kids that “Santa” is actually real and not just some guy in a suit at the mall is really up to each individual home. Nobody ever complains about the Tooth Fairy. Just the same I think it is just terrible what this teacher did. Theresa Farrisi, you crossed the line. It was not your place to tell a bunch of impressionable 6 and 7 year old children something contrary to their parents in regards to something as trivial as the existence of Santa Claus. I think Ms. Farrisi should be fired just because she made a classroom full of children cry!
