Details are still coming in. But I just have to log my support for the air marshal, if the current details are accurate. That someone on an American Airlines flight claimed to have a bomb and a federal air marshal shot them dead.

I don’t care if the nut needed medication, had mental problems, was bluffing or any of that. If anyone made threats of having a bomb it is only right for anyone near them with a gun to shoot to kill!

A great example of why armed air marshal should be allowed on planes! Pilots should also be armed if they want to have a gun.

update (12/7/2005 4:02PM ET): The nut was on flight Flight 924 from Columbia. And it seems the early details are correct. I say job well done to the air marshal.
