The lies spewed by people like Spike Lee and Louis Farrakhan are causing some who believed those lies to respond with threats against FEMA workers.

This is the result when race baiting idiots make claims that have absolutely no foundation in fact!

As I’ve pointed out before, both Spike Lee and Louis Farrakhan are full of it! But their lies carry weight in the minds of people that feel those nuts have their best interests at heart. It is VERY IMPORTANT that officials counter the lies with facts. The facts need to be better promoted and I feel the government promoting the facts is not a violation of any “propaganda” laws. It would not be the promotion of any political agenda. Just offering the facts, so people know the truth! Otherwise, they are going to listen to the nuts that claim to care about them!

update (12/6/2005 11:49PM ET): Although the actual cause of the levee breaking has been documented. Today in Washington DC there was a real sad sight. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney arranged a special House committee hearing about the government’s response after the hurricane. What was sad about this hearing is that the people Congresswoman McKinney arranged to present their stories about the response all repeat the same race-bait lies that spew from the mouths of people like McKinney herself. This is how someone like McKinney is continually elected. She just needs enough people to continue falling for her race-bait. Check out the video linked in this report. Most people at the hearing blamed racism and do not realize, that during Hurricane Andrew it took National Guard troops 5 days to arrive then too! And with Hurricane Katrina, as one Florida Army National Guardsman mentioned:

But none of these facts are ever presented by the MSM!!!

The people at the hearing cried (literally) about racism being the cause. And how they have little to use for housing and heat. Never mind that FEMA is continually extending it’s housing program. Some made a choice to go back to New Orleans and so they must endure the trials involved with their decision to return. While FEMA is paying to keep people in hotels, they decided to go back and now complain they don’t have fully functional facilities. The real fact is that these folks need to do for themselves despite the tragedy and stop crying to and about government. They were told to leave New Orleans and some did not go. If all that could have left did leave there would have been VERY FEW that would have needed rescue. If all who went to shelters within New Orleans brought 3 days worth of supplies as requested, they would not have been crying they had no food! The untold fact is that many of these people responded to the hurricane the same way they handled many other things their entire lives….just wait for the government to take care of it.

One particularly interesting exchange was between Connecticut Republican Congressman Christopher Shays and a New Orleans resident that goes by the nickname “Mama D”. Mama D says that she is a witness to the levee being “blown up”. Because she heard a “Bo-Boom!”. So Congressman Shays attempted to gather more details from her. He asked her how far away the levee was from her home. She initially avoided answering this question for a some time. Then she finally answered that it is about a mile or less from her home. He asked her if she can see the levee from her home. In response, in addition to mentioning all the other homes that prevent her from a direct line of sight with the levee she said:

Some witness . She said another person was in her home when the levee broke, that also heard the boom and declared it was a bomb. None of them saw anything, but because they heard a “boom”, for them it could not have been the loud sound of a massive levee being breached. Nope, for them it was a bomb! A bomb planted by a racist government to kill Black people . This is the psychotic mind-set one must have to buy into this kind of conjecture.

Another woman spoke of how a gun was pointed at her granddaughter. There were no officials at the hearing who were on the scene at that time. Some said they were called racial names, but with no official that was on the scene at the hearing, it makes for a one sided view of things. All there was were claims made by people and no officials that were on the scene to confirm or deny any of the statements. And while the people making the claims say that it was all racism carried out by the government, none of them or Congresswoman McKinney has ever been able to prove the US government intentionally “left people to die”.

Also Louisiana Democratic Congressman William Jefferson was at the hearing. In the video you can see him and McKinney smiling and laughing, while all of the rambling was taking place. For those who don’t know, Congressman Jefferson used military personnel and equipment to get to his home and picked up personal belongings during the RELIEF EFFORT.

Before Katrina his home had been searched as part of a federal investigation.

So you had America’s most suspect representative McKinney, who called for this hearing and Jefferson as the state representative at the hearing. You can’t get a better staged setup than that. A setup to play on race and create a “government conspiracy” where there is none! While America has done all it can to help Katrina victims, some are playing on race to make a tragedy look like an arranged mass murder!
