So called speaker for the poor and so called Reverend Al Sharpton has teamed with a quick loan company, that preys on the same poor people Sharpton claims to stand for.
What advocate for “the little guy” would recommend a company that offers loans with an APR of over 300%?!!!
Al has done many things to tick me off, but nothing since the coke tape has been this horrible!
You can watch a media report of the so called Reverend’s actions here. He is working with a company in a couple of states that is named LoanMax. The pitch is a typical car title loan type of thing.
Also Iowa State Senate Democratic staff have produced this video. It features Democratic State Senator Joe Bolkcom, Republican State Senator Joe Hutter and the state’s Attorney General Tom Miller. Iowa Democrats also offer this write-up of how the so-called “loans” work.
To me, these quick loan companies are nothing but loan sharks!
While I personally am not a fan of legislative attempts to outlaw these types of loans, I do feel they stink! Kind of like a liquor store. You know they are there, but only fools rush in! I can’t say I’m one who actively fights against legislative attempts to outlaw these types of loans either. I feel if you want to make a terrible deal for yourself, then you have that right. But I still think the companies behind such deals are engaging in some terrible business. And when one of their pitchmen is a man who claims to look out for the “little guy”, it only makes the situation even more disgusting! Will we hear about this the next time he wants to pimp the Democratic Party for money in the name of Black votes run for President?
Al Sharpton is nothing but a sorry fraud, that pimps the people he claims to stand up for!

Sharpton…like the wonderful people who brought us “Air-America” is just another hypocrite in the long line of “do as I say not as I do” Liberals. Air-America rightfully goes after “big business” for any underhanded shenanigans they do, but then the radio station turns around and “borrows” a couple of hundred thousand (funds set aside for inner city kids and Alzheimers patients) from a Bronx Boys and Girls Club. So Sharptons hook up with a sleazy outfit like LoanMax is no surprise at all. Anyone who thinks people like Jackson and Sharpton are in any way sincere should apply for a loan at LoanMax.
