No more sugar coating the violence in France!

by @ 1:18 am. Filed under Terrorism and War

France burnsThe amount of gloss put on this picture has been pretty disgusting. If one were to believe many main stream media reports, you might think this was just a bunch of poor kids rioting for jobs and that increased police effort has cooled things down. Neither is true! The rioters are primarily Islamic Radicals that had already distanced themselves from the rest of French society. The poor kids that want jobs are the ones who live in fear of these radicals! They had planned this attack on France for a very long time! Parts of France were already considered “no go” zones by police. Since Islamic Radicals had already taken them over and forced people in those areas to live by their rules, rather than governing French law. This violence is just the next phase in those efforts! And the increased police effort has not cooled things down. Its still as violent as ever, if not more so! An entire country is being over-run and this is being treated like some small event! It has gotten so bad that French authorities have resorted to trying to protect monuments, because they know it would look really bad in the eyes of the world if something like the Eiffel Tower was burning! And the Radicals have made it known that they intend to spread violence to the major cities!

Edward Morrissey sums up much of the media sugar coating and offers analysis of how things got to this point.

Falluja-Sur-Seine?

France averaged 80 cars a day lost to arson this year even before the riots began, and they assumed the riots meant little.

The New York Times still hasn’t mentioned the Muslim aspect in its coverage of the riots.

The Washington Post’s reporter Molly Moore bravely mentioned a possible Islamist connection to the violence, but the paper’s editorial board went out of its way to disavow this nexus.

INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH the Post warned its readers just three weeks ago that Islamist groups had targeted France for the next stage of their war.

French police have discovered at least one bomb-making facility in the riot zone near Paris and suspect that more exist elsewhere.
Despite this rather sophisticated infrastructure of support for the riots and the warnings just prior to the outbreak of the riots they themselves published, the Washington Post’s editorial page–and most of the rest of the media–seems stuck on the notion that poverty and a lack of opportunity alone must account for this sudden and growing uprising.

Captain Ed points out that 500 cars were burned
the night before last and that was with the increased police presence! Before midnight last night (French time) 130 cars were burned!

One article does point out that French President Jacques Chirac is losing a grip on things.

Wounded Chirac ?losing grip? of riot-hit France

Chirac?s response to the mayhem engulfing the country has been widely condemned. He has said virtually nothing about it, heightening perceptions of him as a politically irrelevant figure.

The 72-year-old head of state has been off balance ever since voters defied him by rejecting the European Union constitution in May. Even his lieutenants in the centre-right governing team seemed to be putting the boot in. ?Chirac looks stunned, almost overtaken by events,? Jean-Louis Debr?, president of the national assembly, was quoted as saying.

Chirac, a veteran of countless political battles, baffled his opponents by leaving it to a spokesman to announce the revival of a state of emergency law to quell the unrest.

I don’t think the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (an Algerian Islamist organization) was thinking of Muslims wanting jobs in France, when they said:

Algerian group calls France ‘enemy number one’

“The only way to teach France to behave is jihad and the Islamic martyr,”

“France is our enemy number one, the enemy of our religion, the enemy of our community,”

Interior minister Nicolas Sarkozy said Monday that the risk of terrorist attack in France is “at a very high level… There are cells operating on our territory.”

It’s not jobs that they want! They want control!!!

Here is what the French did wrong!
In their socialist society that already gives housing, money and free health care! The mistake made by the French was not their inability to give everyone job. Their mistake was in giving up the rule of law in many areas! So long as they have a socialist economy, they will always have high unemployment. Plenty of socialist nations have high unemployment. And plenty of them have discrimination! But what other socialist and even communist nations do not do is cede control of territories to radicals! For them to change to capitalism would offer more opportunity to everyone in France, but that won’t change who controls the “no go” areas! France has to be strong on maintaining order, not just when a riot flairs up, but all of the time!

The latest reports indicate that Saturday night (last night) was less violent than Friday night. However, the violence is spreading and for the first time erupted in the heart of a major French city. This is not the first time things appeared to be less violent one night, before getting much worse the next! This is far from over and far from getting any better.
