Blogger La Shawn Barber offers an excellent analysis of this matter. I must say that I agree with her 100%. These attempts to fix discrimination with more discrimination are simply wrong. And I agree with her statement that the effort to end this mess should be expanded. She mentions:

It is time to stop this government sponsored racial preference mess!

Also I must add that I am against the concept of college “legacy admissions”. Just because your daddy went to a school, does not mean that you should be afforded more of an opportunity than anyone else to attend that same school! A true “level” playing field means not favoring anyone! During the times of George Washington, there were attempts to create a special society for people who fought in the Revolutionary War and their descendants. Even then the society was denounced as being unconstitutional and it eventually was done away with. While too many of them did not have the issue of slavery correct, even they had to admit that admission by birthright is not the American way! I should also add, other special admission factors like “jock points” should also be done away with!
