Today a large assortment of fruits and nuts will come here to Gwinnett County, GA to, cry about people who don’t listen to police instructions and are zapped with tasers! These nut would prefer if police had to use wet noodles to subdue suspects that don’t listen to instructions! When a person who failed to listen to the police happens to be hurt or die in police custody, these nuts come running to march and whine. But when a criminal kills a police officer, they are nowhere to be found! Just another example of one of their many double standards! Some of these groups were once the vanguard of the Civil Rights Movement and today they are nothing more than groups that live to sensationalize any event for their own self promotion. They now work in defense of criminals, while doing little to help law enforcement! While criminals ravage many inner city Black communities, these nuts work to tie the hands of the people trying to fight crime! Even when a criminal kills a Black police officer, these nuts say nothing! But let the killer be put on death row and they will run to fight the death penalty!

Yes every nut one can think of will have representation at this one. I’m surprised they did not charter a flight for Cindy Sheehan, to come chain herself to something and lay on the ground !

Being a Gwinnett County resident for almost 10 years, I have to say that I have found police overall to be good keepers of the peace. For a long time our police were the lowest paid in the Atlanta area and even then they were doing their jobs with a professional demeanor. When someone does not listen to police, I think the officer should use a stick, taser and anything else at their disposal to subdue the individual!

This coming march started primarily because of a man named Frederick Williams, that did not take his epilepsy medication and died while police were trying to place him in a restraining chair. Since Frederick was a Black man the Race Warlords (SCLC) ran to the area. Crying that it was a racist act and DA Danny Porter was a racist. (Charles Steele Jr. said Danny Porter has “racial tendencies”.) I’m a Black man and in my time living here I have NEVER seen Danny Porter do anything I could ever call racist! And I happily vote for his re-election every time he runs for office. The Race Warlords wanted Danny to press charges against the the officers involved in the Frederick Williams case. Danny refused. A Grand Jury decided the officers did nothing wrong. The SCLC threatened to call for a boycott of our county. Federal prosecutors reviewed the case and determined that the cops did nothing wrong. After this happened the Race Warlords realized that trying to continue on the path of seeking criminal charges was not a good idea. But they had already promised a protest march in the area. So they had to adjust their purpose for the march a little. Now the SCLC wants an “independent investigation” into tasers and claims every study done was backed by the taser industry.

Even news reporters have been zapped with tasers and had no issues afterwards.

If the SCLC and these other nuts really wanted another study of tasers, they could fund their own study! But they want to keep their names in the public eye. So instead of actually doing what they claim they want done, they will run around our county hoping some TV cameras join them!

Bottom line, tasers help police do their jobs. And people who don’t listen to police instructions bring misfortune on themselves, regardless of the reasons why they fail to listen.

So I say to that officer of the peace, use that taser, stick and if you feel you need to use your gun! Better that you go home to your family alive at the end of the night. Instead of someone hurting or killing you, then going to a tax payer funded cell, to be fed and receive free health care! Because you police officers know the nuts marching tomorrow won’t be there for you, if someone hurts or kills you in the line of duty!

update (11/12/2005 6:04PM ET): Here is a news report about their nut parade march today. The video report mentions that they were only able to muster about 100 people. And 0ne of the nuts Tyrone Brooks is still saying that he wants the police officers prosecuted . Oh well, they can waste all the shoe leather they want. Nothing is changing here and people that follow police instructions don’t get zapped with tasers! Also, people who listen after the first zap don’t get multiple zaps! Other than the local media, this was such a small event that the national media didn’t even bother to cover it!
