While France burns, an American killer gets to go home!

by @ 9:20 pm. Filed under Judiciary, Nuts on Parade

Jennifer Porter killed 2 children and injured 2 others. Her sentence, two years house arrest, three years probation and 500 hours of community service. In a hit and run she killed 2, went home and her father helped her cover up evidence! The father did not face any charges at all for his involvement!

Porter Gets House Arrest

Porters’ sentence of two years house arrest, three years probation and 500 hours community service.

it was Porter’s father who cleaned blood off the hood of the car and hid the vehicle in the family’s garage.

Porter pleaded guilty in August to leaving the scene of an accident involving death. In a plea deal, she was to be sentenced to no more than three years in prison.

On March 31, 2004, Bryant Wilkins and Caldwell and their two siblings started to cross North 22nd Street on their way home from a basketball game at the University Area Community Center.

The four children were struck in the roadway. Bryant and Durontae died.

The mother of these children rarely let them outside. They were good kids and their mother tried hard to protect them. Now that 2 are dead, the killer does not even spend a day in prison! This is insanity!

Bottom line is that Jennifer Porter got off because her family was able to buy a verdict! Given the racial make-up of everyone involved, there is a lot of talk about race in this matter. But I think if Jennifer Porter hit 4 White children that day her sentence would have been the same and the courtroom would not even have been packed like it was in this case! Her father helped her cover up a crime and then got a lawyer with enough stroke to get his daughter off easy! They played the “emotion card” to the hilt to make Jennifer Porter seem more like a victim than criminal! Just amazing!

I think the children’s mother said it best when she said the following statements:

Wilkins said she has forgiven Porter, but forgiveness and punishment are different things. Porter, she said, needs prison time.

“Everybody was talking about her state of mind today,” Wilkins said moments before leaving the courthouse. “What about my state of mind?”

As with other killers I think no sentence less than the death penalty is acceptable! But the mother of the dead children would have accepted some prison time. It is just sad that a killer can get off this easy.

Debra Lafave will do no jail time! What the heck is wrong with the Tampa area criminal justice system?!!!

First a killer in that area is allowed to get away with no jail time and now a child molester too!
