Once again the news media reports on a questionnaire and misses key information. This time regarding her 1989 questionnaire to Texans United for Life.
Here’s a typical news report from today which says things like:

But this does not tell the entire story. So I have found a copy of the actual questionnaire and will list every full question and response here. Answers will be in bold type. If no answer was given that will be mentioned in italics.
Transcription of actual 1989 Texans United for Life candidate questionnaire completed by Harriet Miers

Notice in question #5 which is about voting against people going to boards that are pro-abortion, she responded “YES - To the extent Pro-Life views are relevant.” The additional words she added are not being reported in the MSM. They simply mention that she said “yes” and give the impression that she would deny any pro-abortion person access to any City Board or Committee that deals with any health matters! She would have only done it in cases where the issue of abortion was relevant! We know this is not the first time the MSM and even some cyber news sluts have botched the job of reporting on a questionnaire!
She’s pro-life and I think that is a good thing! But she is not someone that would deny anyone access to any group related to health simply because of their views on abortion. Only if the post was relevant!
One other interesting note, is that she did not want this position initially. Probably would have been better to not push her into the position of a candidate if initially she did not want to be one, but she’s there now and accepted. So I say let the process continue and stop all the daggers!
